While most members of the Crusade have joined due to tragedy and displacement, Caliban is one of the few who have entered its ranks out of a selfless desire to help. Blessed by rare shadow magic, Caliban believes that his cloaking came from God and that it is his holy mission to stalk the shadows and root out evil.

Creatures fear that which they cannot see, but Caliban instead embraces the darkness. He finds it comforting and safe rather than cold and dangerous. When night falls, he casts his gaze upwards to meet the thousands of eyes above. The stars, he believes, are his ancestors and the moon is the watchful eye of a nameless God. The moon and stars keep to the shadows just as he does and he looks forward to their nightly reunion.

As a Nightwalker, Caliban leads the Tacticians of the herd as their Architect. He is among the first to scout out new locations, stepping between pools of darkness and blending into his surroundings. He has a quiet personality and can be quite serious, though when he's "off the clock" he can be more personable.
