Of all of the Crusade’s leadership, Keira is the hardest to get along with— ironic, considering the fact that she’s the herd’s lead doctor.

Keira hails from the deep woodland. Predators lurk around every tree and there are few places where a unicorn can hide. The land may be lush and bountiful, but survival is no easy task. Keira learned from a young age that you must use the resources available to you; otherwise, you’ll end up dead.

Having a deep affinity for plant-based magic, Keira attracted the attention of the forest’s leshen. It took interest in her abilities and the traps that the mare would construct to prevent predators from sneaking up on her. The spirit made her an offer: in return for protection, Keira needed to assist it in driving out a blight that was weakening it.

Keira investigated the matter and discovered the source of the blight— an aerico had established itself in the area. Keira set to work developing a way to exorcise the demon, and after she successfully banished it, she developed enchantments to help heal the surrounding land. With her end of the bargain fulfilled, she earned the trust and friendship of the leshen as well as its protection.

Keira joined the Crusade as a warband passed through her territory. Their plight reminded her of the aerico many years before, and though the mare appears to have a heart of stone, she felt that her skills would be best put to use with the monster hunters.
