Right hand to the head of the Hearth, Haruya is a very well respected, or perhaps more accurately feared individual.
Working mainly as a hitman, many have learned the hard way why Embris isn't to be crossed. If you don't have to deal with him, you deal with the dragon. And that's hardly any better.

dragon slaying
There were many questionable practices in the olden days regarding casting, one of these being dragon slaying. It was thought that slaying a dragon would make one closer to Magic, and so Xereh consistently found himself on the move to avoid drawing too much attention to his nature.
sanctuary
Despite his constant traveling, Xereh was eventually discovered, and several bounties were put on his head. Having nowhere to turn once his home village was burned, he headed for a camp at the base of the mountain, hoping that they would provide him shelter from the mob that was chasing him down. Not only did he receive shelter, but protection as well. The camp he'd run to happened to be Embris', and he too was a wanted man, albiet for very different reasons.
stoking the fire
While Xereh slowly adjusted to his new reality, an idea was proposed to him. One that after everything he'd been through, he quite liked the sound of. Creating a band of warriors to take down those who spread corrupt ideals, such as dragon slaying. It was something Xereh believed in wholeheartedly, and truth be told he still does to this day. After all, no one slays dragons for their scales anymore.
Though I still hold great respect for him, I believe he's lost sight of what it is we believed in when we started this.
The doctor has some questionable methods, but all in all does their job well. Though they are.. Unnerving.
I try to keep them on track, but it is hard to get them to adhere to routine. They have gotten better, though.
I can recognize her want for the truth. But she must learn when to quit. Now is one of those times, for her own safety.
