Eskel is rarely seen outside of his lab. Whether it's an order from Emrbis is unclear, as is his origin.
No one knows where Dr. Venn-Isin comes from, only that he is now a permanent member of the Hearth. There isn't much of a way to get rid of him, since he's already dead.

unfinished business
While most cross over back to the Ethereal realm after death, Eskel's soul lingered long enough for Zuriel to notice something was unbalanced. Searching for and locating the restless spirit took the feline months, but it would prove to be well worth it. In his mind, at least.
striking a deal
Convincing the malevolent spirit to return to a mortally binding body was not the easiest thing in the world, but through unknown means a deal was made. The terms of said deal are something that remains a secret to this day, as both parties all but refuse to speak on it.
the new "doctor"
It's very highly doubted that Eskel actually has a medical license. But no one dares to bring it up, as the few that have are shown just how capable Venn-Isin is in terms of surgery. Though his methods are, as Xereh says "questionable", when attending an appointment with the deer, his patients do always leave feeling leagues better than they did when they went in.
My dear sister. I do wish she hadn't had to experience a similar fate to mine, but it is nice to have her by my side.
He is a well put together man. He understands the structure of things. I respect him for that.
