Profile

General Info

Thikaid is the buff father of Sanahaid and Diyahex, well-known for freeing the Blyssian races from the Star Gods. He's better known on Earth as Mothman.

To his family and friends, he's kind and gentle, with a hint of toughness thrown in. To everyone else, he's quite stern and commanding, yet fair at the same time.

Voice-wise, I think he'd sound like a 1940's radio announcer. Kind of undecided on this, but whatever.

Backstory

Back when Blyssia was owned by the Star Gods - a human-like species that rivaled the Shadow People in power - a worrying crisis started to emerge. The species needed enough resources to build their armies and cities, but they didn't have enough hands to run the plants and/or keep their automated facilities in check. To counteract this, they decided to transform some of the native wildlife (specifically, their moths and lizards) into two new species that'd help them.

Thikaid was one of the first to be created, as the Star Gods wanted to test to limits on how strong they could make an individual. Once everything was done, he was tasked with creating hard-to-forge armor for the Star Gods, and was given a surprisingly comfortable life. And everything was smooth sailing for almost 400 years. However, as time went on, things on Blyssia became more and more unstable.

The Star Gods became more controlling of their workers, and the two races became less obedient, especially when the Shadow People started to take a keen interest in them. This culminated in a full-blown rebellion in 780 BC, pitting the three races against the Star Gods. Although uninvolved at first - he was (and still is) against war - Thikaid slowly began to supplying armor to the rebels. Through a series of strange events and coincidences, he became the 'face' of the rebellion.

To cut a long story short, by 753 BC, most of the Star Gods fled from Blyssia, and the winners took to rebuilding the planet. To say that Thikaid was busy during this time is a massive understatement - he was rebuilding, restoring order to the planet, keeping track of the Star Gods, and so on. It wouldn't be until 75 AD that the work would be finished, for the most part. Once that was done, Thikaid decided to retire and live in the newly-founded town of Havak Yatara. He also decided to get really buff during this time.

Thikaid was forced out of retirement in 339 AD, when he heard that one of his war buddies - Jacob Kynaston - had died on Earth. (Relaying news between Earth and Blyssia was slow in the past.) He left Blyssia for the first time to pay his respects, and came across Thennakarsis, who told him everything that transpired. Thikaid then set off to find Gaius and, after meeting up and discussing the Unity with him, learned about where Nat and Shizue could have gone. Thus, a 600+ year quest to find the two began.

Despite many promising leads, Thikaid could never really spare the time to search for Shizue; Blyssia needed his help and attention. Eventually, as the year 1000 dawned, Thikaid finally decided to put everything aside and gathered up some men and women to find the two. It was the Goldmane Stranger - whose identity is still unknown - who discovered Shizue's cave. Once the party met up with Shizue, they began work on rebuilding her. During this, Thikaid and Shizue/Nat became fast friends. This was when Thikaid's ability to sense upcoming disasters started developing.

After Project REBUILD SHIZUE was complete, Thikaid went back to Blyssia, where he decided to start up a proper family. After marrying his boyfriend, he had two children; Diyahex and Sanahaid. Thikaid vowed to give his two sons a great upbringing; something that he was never given. Later on, in 1958, Rosemary joined the Tavagri family after splitting up with her parents. And for a couple of years, everything in the household was going along swimmingly.

And then Sanahaid's possession happened.

Once Diyahex got arrested for necromancy and sent to jail, Thikaid traveled to Earth again in order to clear his mind. He chose to reside in the woods of West Virginia, as the state's lush forests and nature reminded him of his old stomping grounds of Relgas. Maybe. The locals were less-than-thrilled about his sudden appearance, however, and started calling him "Mothman". He took this nickname in stride, and began to intentionally cause a ruckus for bants. It was all fun and games... until a bridge collapsed, and people connected the sightings to the disaster.

Realizing what had actually happened, Thikaid decided to head back to Blyssia, intentionally avoiding places where a similar-scale disaster could happen. Then, in 1990, Diyahex was released from jail. (Oh, and Rosemary decided to raise her sister Acero by herself.) Angered by Sanahaid's snitching, he searched for his family's new house. Once he discovered its location, he sent some undead minions to kill Sanahaid. It ended up going wrong - not only was Sanahaid not in the house (or anyone, really - they were going on vacation), the zombies ended up nearly killing their sickly birth mother, putting her into a coma as a result. Diyahex fled to Earth upon the realization, and Sanahaid followed soon after.

With the family split in two, Thikaid decided in 1995 to move to Earth yet again, leaving his boyfriend and Rosemary in care of the house. (Acero was with Shizue at this point.) He now resides in his old Earth base in West Virginia, keeping track of what his sons and the Bonneville sisters are up to, and sending any support he can along the way.
