the unicorns primarily worship a lunar goddess called, among other names, Mo'anne. she has a dual-self called the River which is wilder, untamed. these two halves of a whole make up the heart of unicorns. Estrella was a high priestess who was chosen as the Ascended, a bridge between the goddess and the unicorns. kinda like the pope.
