ABOUT
"It's a job - we're the difference it's not a game"
Alador became Pius when he was still a child - not ready to suddenly have these super powers given to him, he seperated it from him as a person and saw it as nothing but a job. It's important for them to keep these sides of their life as seperate as possible, no one knows it's secret identity and it would much prefer to keep it that way.
With this desire to keep everything seperate between the two sides of his life. Alador tries to separate & change his in suit personality as much as possible from his actual one – which has faintly turned himself into a caricature of itself.
He works with Dark Magic & Business, other spiderpeople of his world, but doesn't appreciate them, especially not their positive & lack of realisation over how serious being a hero actually is. It does slighly envy them for this though, not that he'll ever admit it - and he'd rather be someone they see honestly and for that they dislike it then have some fake view on it and the work they have to do.
POWERS
- Has no web fluid [neither naturally or created] – he tried swinging once but it made him violently sick.
- Night Vision – he can see as well at night as he can in the day, though it means he gets migraines under bright lights.
- Healing Factor – it’s is very strong, he can brush off simple flesh wounds quickly
- Minimum Super speed & Reflexes – slower than most spider people, made up for by the fact they can heal from wounds faster – still faster than an average humans
- Spider Sense – is on an average level for a spider person, though it can’t always identify which direction he’s being alerted to.
PERSONALITY
Alador - Alador is quiet and keeps to himself, getting anxious in crowds and not wanting to be around more than a couple of people at a time. It doesn’t speak much, especially to those he doesn’t know or don’t share the same interests – seen with a note book of some kind in his hands most of the time. He doesn’t mind being part of a team but hates the idea of being in charge, he’s good at coming up with plans but will hand them out and let someone else claim charge.
He does not like to discuss heroes and villains in his 'normal' life shutting down or just not joining in the conversations when this happens in his every day life. It brushes this off as being anxious and that this sort of talk doesn't really help their everyday life - it refuses to give any form of opinion on Pius or the other spider people of the world - this is the one thing he does not explain why, it's only worry that their identity could come out.
Pius - Pius is very outgoing, they tend to stay quiet but will take charge and give orders if it deems this necessary. Considered as brash by most, others even consider its behaviour as rude. It never seems to be afraid of anything, always throwing itself in before the others, with little worry about his own safety – preferring that it takes the hit rather than anyone else. Calculating and cold some state, not really informing others of its plans before it gives them orders.
Pius often forgets to share these plans at all, expecting the others to just know or think along the same wave length as it to understand it's actions. It's a bad habit of theirs it knows, but it often feels like the other heroes don't deserve to have their powers and fame - that they aren't as successful. It's not that they feel like they're the best - he tends to join itself in this group - none of them deserve to be held up like this, he was just a kid who got lucky. Or unlucky as some may think.
BIOGRAPHY
Act 1 - The awakening
Alador had a relatively normal childhood, growing up in his family home with his parents, their home town being small and everyone’s business was out in the open – something that always made him nervous. He already had a bunch of rumours around him, known as strange and quiet, though his parents always tried to shelter him away from this.
It happened on his 11th birthday when he went camping with his father & aunt. They were staying in the woods and Alador was left alone in the camp while the adults quickly headed back into the local town to grab some supplies they had forgotten. It had been done before and they knew he could be trusted & there were others there to ensure nothing bad could happen to the child. Alador didn’t even notice the spider bite him – only after the fact did they realise they had been bitten in that spot – he didn’t even know it was from a spider at that time.
It didn’t set in until a couple of weeks later that there was something wrong, and to this day they wonder if they would have know if it didn’t happen.
He has few memories of the event, other then the fact he knows that it survived something that they should not have – not only that but they walked away from it. Their parents didn’t talk about it and not long after they moved, which was not easy for Alador, now discovering their superpowers in a place they know no one and parents who are refusing to acknowledge it let alone help; and finally siblings angry for having to leave their friends for reasons they’ve been told they’re not allowed to know.
Act 2 - Blooming
It took a long time for Alador to actually accept their mantal and even longer to take their name, hiding from the public for as long as it could. They didn’t want to be a hero, yes when they first got the powers, they thought it would be fun – it didn’t take it long to realise fun was far from what it was.
Finding out what he was exactly capable for was a nerve-wracking task, especially for his healing. It wanted to push and see exactly what he can survive, but did not want to end up dead or injured to the point he has to think up a reason for the hospital. He was not afraid to swing when he first finished development of his web fluid – however the severe motion sickness it gave him that first time was enough for him to put this away and never touch it again in his current career.
Even now, 9 years after he developed these powers, he’s still seeing and pushing to see exactly what he is capable of, where his limits lie and even if there’s something new out there for him.
He's been hearing whispers & seeing hints of things that he doesn’t quite believe and he’d rather like to know what’s going on. This is his universe, no matter what those two children say – and he wants to know exactly what’s happening and why.
RELATIONS
Not only does it respect that they are rather strong in their own rights and a good Spider person - he it enjoys how open their dislike for it is. Being open about that makes it easier to know what they're thinking.
It doesn't mind him as a co-worker but considers them to be the weak link of the group and dislikes that the other can't be honest about his dislike for them.
MISC
TRIVIA
- His 'name' Pius - came from the jumping spider Phidippus pius, he also likes the fact it means dutiful in Latin
- Pescatarian – though when he’s around his family he will also eat chicken, it does not touch red meat however.
- It's spider sense feels like a pain in the back of it's head / base of his skull.
- Not their universe's only canon spiderperson but it is the eldest & has had the powers for the longest.
- It got claustrophobic in a full mask so only wears one over his lower face, he also likes that people can see it's eyes.
- Only the tips of his suits metals 'spikes' are sharp, they're used mostly to push people and things out of the way then as a way to attack.
