jay is a photographer whose work mainly centers around
portraiture. when he was starting out his work was focused on nature but now, when he explores, he spends more time experiencing the outdoors rather than capturing them. he's managed to keep a steady income even as a freelancer, which he is very proud of.
While growing up Jay never felt like he fit in with other people. Part of it was his undiagnosed autism that made it hard for him to communicate "properly" but most of the reason he was excluded was his race - he grew up in a very white state and after he ran away from home, he found that he didn't know anything about his heritage. He avoided this part of his identity for most of his 20s and only started exploring it at 26 with encouragement from his partner, Adam.

- DESIGN NOTES
- Like most of my OCs, you can draw them with any outfit. They like wearing colorful clothes, often with patterns.

Sometimes I draw the lens in his glasses as just a white block to convey that he isn't making eye contact. I stopped doing this a while ago but you can use it if you want.
- quirky jay facts
- Jay has trouble moving his face around, specially when he's with strangers. People ofthen assume that he dislikes them but he doesn't usually form opinions about others well after meeting them.
- He has a bad ex like Adam, but he tries not to think about him more than he needs to. The person that really hurt him was someone who tagged along after he and Margo ran away - the only person he truly hates.
- He was going to be an agronomist but his interest for photography took over and he stopped studying.
- Ever since he ran away, he hasn't had a stable home. He loves roadtrips and he has many clients in London, so he travels quite a lot. He usually stays with his friends and is a really good guest.
- (Don't think too much about how he makes enough money to bounce around... I just really wanted A Guy that travels and has a stable enough income to do it) (i like to imagine he's very good at what he does so people pay him a lot) (haha)
