"I have to say this is good I'm no expert in the anatomy of the human body but it is nicely proportioned (which isn't easy), hands are difficult to draw and they also look in proportion and well drawn. The shading on the body is also excellent and captures the curves very well. The wings look a little bit bland, maybe a few more feathers in there, or more pronounced lines for the feathers. The owl head has some nice contrast between the dark tones and also fits well. | RATING(1-10): 10 EXPLAIN RATING: Deirdre is just too perfect; the owl face and wings are a really nice, and her color scheme is simple, but really pretty. Also, the color of her eyes also contrast pretty well with her overall palette. Something that I like about her design is the way that her wings cover much of her upper body, and that's really neat for a character design. When I look at her I can tell she's some kind of special being, something super mysterious. I can't quite tell if she's malevolent or benevolent, which seems to be the point for her. She's got soft features that suggest she's benevolent, but she's kind of got a strange silhouette, especially with the horns and contrasting features (black on white). If I saw her while walking through a forest, I wouldn't completely trust her. However, I feel like she's maybe too human? That might be due to my personal taste, but for someone born from a forest, I feel like she could have more to her. Something like longer wings or a darker, more obvious gradient in her legs could help a lot. Even then, I think she still looks great - Animaloftheelements on the forums *** |
