Profile

Orochia is a snake demon, who rules parts of hell by controlling the snakes to spread the words of Satan to sinners and to those who are firm believers/worshipers of Satan. Orochia's origins are unknown, however, it is said that Orochia was actually a woman whom God created long before Adam and Eve, and after falling in love with the words Satan spoke of, God punished her by having her die of snake venom, to which, she later reincarnated into the snake demon who adopted the name 'Orochia'.

While it is said in holy scriptures that it was Satan who had brought temptation by shape shifting into a snake, it was actually Orochia who had sent the snake out to Eve and allowed Satan to manipulate her through telepathy, which later led Adam and Eve's banishment from The Garden of Eden.

Appearance

There are multiple cases in which Orochia has been physically seen. Some say they would see a figure of a snake in the corner of their eyes, but would disappear the moment their full attention would be on the certain location. Other say she's a beautiful woman with dark scales along her neck and shoulders, with the body of a snake, her tail longer and thicker than a python and an anaconda combined, and her eyes a threatening sharp golden with two more eyes underneath her main one. It is said she uses her cobra hood to seem threatening, or when she feels threatened, and anyone who sees her hood will see eight more eyes staring back at them. When closed, they hold an unknown pattern on their eyelids. There are many who believe she is a combination of different snakes, while others say she is a specific type of snake such as a python, or cobra. There are also claims where Orochia has fangs protruding from her lips when she is ready to feast, or feels threatened and it is said that her teeth could tear into even the most toughest flesh and inject a paralysis venom into their blood stream.

Personality

Before Orochia became a demon, she was incredibly clueless and gullible, at one point believing Satan to be the messenger of God when they first introduced themself to her. After her transformation Orochia followed Satan's example, and started growing a silver tongue; manipulating those she visits, and growing promiscuous by using her beauty to typically lure men into a trap, to which, she consumes the men she tricks.

Myths and Worship

Unlike in Christianity where she and snakes are believed to be the symbol of evil and the devil himself, there are certain countries where she is worshiped, such as Africa, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Mesoamerica, Asia, the ancients Greece and Rome, and Ancient Mesopotamia.

  • Africa: Killing a snake such as a Python is strictly forbidden and will be put to death if such act has been committed, for their lives are preserved out of respect. It is believed that different types of snakes have a specific purpose, such as healers or being messengers of God. It is also believed that they are incarnations of the dead, and symbols of fertility as the serpent spirit can shape shift themselves into any long, winding objects, an umbilical chord being one of those winding objects, which then dates back to the water spirit, Mami Wata, who is associated with healing and fertility and holds a very big role in African Religions.
  • Ancient Egypt: The cobra is a symbol of many things, such as the sun god, Ra and plenty of other deities. However, cobras can also be seen as evil, such as Set. Orochia was worshiped by Wadjet, who was represented by the cobra, and her allegiance became one of the protective emblems of the pharaoh's crown once both lower and upper Egypt were united.
  • Mesoamerica: The ancient Mayan's worshiped the deities Kukulkan and the Aztec Quetzalcoatl, and the serpents were thought to be portals between two different worlds.
  • Ancient Rome: In Italy there was a serpent goddess, named Angitia, who was associated with snakes and snake charmers. She was also believed to be a goddess of healing, to which, lead to serpent worship being well known in Europe.
  • Ancient Greece: Snakes hold a neutral portion of worship, for some stories, the snakes are roles of wisdom, while other stories tells monsters in different snake forms, such as the Gorgon, and Typhon.
  • Ancient Mesopotamia: The snakes were believed to be symbols of immortality because they can shed their skin to appear more youthful each and every time.

Origins

Orochia's true identity is actually Adah, and was one of the few human beings to first walk the earth. She never heard of Eden, but instead wandered around aimlessly in an area that was festered with demons. Despite the dangers around her, God had promised her protection, and she spent the long days living in a world surrounded by demons and their brutal way of life.

It was around that time, Satan had just recently fallen from heaven after challenging God, to which, God would instantly punish those who involve themselves with Satan or otherwise. With Adah being a new human being with little to no idea of evolving into any amounts of logic, reasons, or morality, Adah became Satan's first follower and believer, along with the other first man, Ethan, to which, Adah and him never crossed paths. God expected them to find each other and later procreate to begin the creation of the human race, which God later found to be a mistake.

At the time, Adah was a gullible woman, who believed in the words Satan told her, and would follow their words. The kindness Satan showed to her was what got her to firmly believe in their existence, never realizing or understanding that the kindness was all a ploy as a way to earn her trust, as Satan had planned to have her turned into one of the violent demons as one of their loyal followers. After a week of Satan showing Adah kindness and protection from any of the demons who would target her, she started to fall in love with the fallen angel instead of Ethan, whom God assigned her to fall in love with since the beginning. Adah grew a devotion to Satan and wanted to follow in their footsteps to become a worshiper and held high hopes of becoming their lover.

God found out about Adah's infatuation towards Satan, to which, she was put to death by snake venom.

At the time, there were no amounts of a cure in sight, which left Adah to suffer through the sickness of the venom going through her bloodstream for a week.

With Satan becoming desperate to build an army by gaining followers, they issued a snake to swallow her whole, never expecting to have Adah reincarnated into a much more evolved demon, which is how Satan discovered the creation of Devilmen. With Adah's new change, she became an official follower of the angel, with her love for him still intact and much stronger than before after knowing they went through such lengths to save her life. After both Satan and Adah discover Ethan, Satan had Ethan become a Devilman as well.

While it is said that Adam and Eve were the first human beings to walk this earth, it was actually Adah and Ethan who were the first humans who acted more as 'test subjects'. However, they were never recorded by God, or his son Jesus, due to God wanting to forget about the fatal mistakes that were made.

But it did give a lesson to God. And that lesson was

"We were born sinners."
