"How can she stand being here? They let her do whatever she wants - why doesn't she just leave?!" //
Featherhopper doesn't understand Pebbles at all. They'd first been sympathetic, desperate for another toon's company in this suit-ridden hellscape, but they quickly lost hope of any common ground when they found out Pebbles was here by choice. They're infuriated that she's allowed to go wherever she pleases, and truly doesn't understand why she doesn't take the chance to escape; a chance they'd kill to have. Featherhopper keeps the raccoon at a distance - her loyalties lie with these suits, why should they trust her?
"It's a very interesting toon, but I'm afraid befriending them will be heck of a ride.. but, who am I to complain? Maybe I'll warm them up enough, who knows".
She thinks Featherhopper is a bit distant, maybe sometimes rude, but she doesn't mind! She sees a friend in everyone, and this one right here, Is another target.
"Troy? I don't think I know a Tr- oh. Him. He's.. bearable, I guess. Would save me a headache if he wasn't stuck in trees all the time." //
Featherhopper sees Troy as a good acquaintance, but not much else. They don't see each-other too often, with Troy working outside and Featherhopper stuck in the office most of the day, but they respect his position and manages to relax a little bit around him when he's not stuck somewhere. Their conversations are rare, but an appreciated break from the insanity of their other colleagues.
"Ah! Featherhopper! Yes yes, I remember them! Such a battle spirit in this little fragile body! I wonder where they get all of this from!"
Ever since witnessing the toon, Troy has already fallen in love (NOT SHIPPING) with them. Such battle spirit, such.. bravery! Yet, he doesn't like to think about the times where Featherhopper needed to notify Chip about another one of the cog's... accidents. One of the very few friends of Featherhopper.
"I-... I don't know why you're asking about him, there's nothing to say. Look, I'm busy, no more questions!" //
Featherhopper had put a lot of trust in Seargent when they first started working under the same company. Working similar jobs, the toon found a lot of peace in Sarge's quiet nature, and would often look forward to working with him - a rare occurrence. The first time Sarge had blown himself up in front of them had been.. jarring, but soon enough he was back on his feet; same with the second time, even if seeing his head explode twice (both times inadvertently because of them) left them shaken. But something /happened/ that third time - something went wrong - and the Point Blank that was returned to the logging company a few weeks later wasn't right. He was standoffish and rude, dismissing Featherhopper where he'd have trusted them before; Featherhopper told themselves he just needed time to come around, but that time never came, and the toon stepped away. Eventually, they were able to jog his memory with the thought-to-be destroyed camera recording of the night the first version of Sarge died, and while he's a little warmer towards them now, Featherhopper keeps him at an arm's distance. He's too volatile to get close to again.
"Featherhopper? Don't get me started.. This toon makes me have a headache every time they come by. I wonder why.."
Sergeant's feelings about Featherhopper are mixed and confusing. Mostly, this cog is neutral to them, maybe because most of the times he is needed as security for this toon in particular, to make sure no one is going to get harmed. Yet, he's not sure about one thing... why is Featherhopper so cautious around him? And, most importantly, why does he remember being.. nice to them.
"Don't even say his name - my head hurts just hearing it. I need to meet whichever mad-man made this suit just to drop a piano on their head." //
Featherhopper's day immediately gets worse the second Bee is in the building; they cannot stand his constant badgering and attempts at jokes - cogs aren't even meant to make jokes! Bee should count himself lucky that he hasn't lost an arm or had his antennas ripped from his head yet, someone should probably tell him that Featherhopper bites before it's too late.
"Hmm? Featherhopper, haha! Yes yes I remember them! Ahh, such a friendly toon! I'm buzzing with energy every time I see them! I wonder what kind of a joke I should perform next.."
A little prankster. Always annoying the absolute daylights out of the poor overworked toon every time he gets a chance, even if its just buzzing right next to their ear, or playing with their hair while flying above them. This bee is asking for a death wish, and everyone knows that.
"..Why are you asking? She's not in trouble again, is she?" // Featherhopper first met Raven while she was attempting to spy on the building, and while protocol calls for them to tell someone and have her "escorted out", the fact the Resistance had got their claws into someone as young as her made them hesitate. Sure, they had to sneak her around the building for a while, but they wanted to give her somewhere to stay that wasn't the Resistance, hoping to guide her away from either side and let her live in peaceful neutrality. When she arrived after Sheriff's death with nowhere else to go, Featherhopper took her in, calling it a temporary stay while she found a place to live. That never ended up happening, though, as Raven found her place within the building instead, and Featherhopper finding themselves growing increasingly protective of her - often seeing their younger self in the other toon. They're often fiercely overprotective of her, towing the line between a thoughtful parent and restricting her independence, but as she grows older they can only hope they've done enough to keep her safe and (mostly) happy.
āā¦yeah, theyāre good. I like to make jokes about how old, creaky and senile they are- listen, Iām just spitting facts here. Itās TRUE.ā
Featherhopper is one of the very few toons that Raven feels like she can trust. Of course, since she didnāt know them from an earlier age - only meeting them after joining the resistance and being made to spy on Cut to the Chase - her first opinion was the usual default: āthey probably think Iām irritating and I cannot trust them.ā But why they ever saw good in the explosive and bitey little critter than is herself is something she doubts she will ever understand. But despite this, she is incredibly grateful that they wonāt turn her away like everyone else seems to have done and, this is probably as a result of never having any sort of paternal presence ever throughout her life, sheās accepted Featherhopper as a parental figure of sorts.
"..." //
Only a select few people in Featherhopper's circle know about their past with Mal, mostly because of how they hate to admit their own weakness. During their time at Bossbot Headquarters, they were a frequent patient of Mal's, and the first to be subject to her newest build of a toon shock-collar. After lashing out and biting off two of her fingers, Featherhopper was forced through the entire operation without sedatives nor anaesthetic, something that made them terrified to even speak for months. Even now, the memory of her haunts them constantly, the scars across their neck a constant reminder of what she did.
"I don't think there's anything I could've done for her.. I do hope she's doing alright." // While originally irritated by Lemonbutter due to her being under Gabriel's control, they've since realised just how poorly she's been treated by both suit and toon alike. They're unsure of how to help - or if Lemonbutter even wants help - but they often try to take her side, even if it's just so she has someone in her corner.
lemonbutter doesn't have much of an opinion on featherhopper - they've barely even talked to the toon besides dropping off food in that dreadful building - so they're neutral enough to them.
