"What's this weird watch?"
Matt is a young black-haired man who is often seen wearing a black jean jacket with the collar popped, jeans with a black or brown belt, and tennis shoes along with a pair of vibrantly colored shades that he found while thrift shopping in high school. The back of his jacket has a lightning bolt on it. He can also be seen wearing 80's cartoon t-shirts, sometimes under his jacket. He will occasionally wear aviators to more formal events, but he always has some sort of sunglasses on, even at night or indoors. He can be seen at skate parks or arcades with his friends most of the time. When he does work, he dons a green apron with a nametag, a black dress shirt, and jeans. His boss allows him to wear his shades while he is making coffee.
Matt can be described as a very charismatic man, always ready for an adventure. He is open and welcoming towards everyone he comes across thanks to his sincere and simple nature.

Background
Matt Hawkins is a young man from Los Angeles, California. He grew up in the crowded, rough city through the early 1990's and despite the frequent violence in the nearby areas Matt had a relatively easy and carefree childhood. During high school, Matt met his best friends Polly Evans and Alex Warner and they have been friends ever since.
Matthew has developed quite the obsession with the 1980's over the years despite not being fortunate enough to have been born in that decade. He enjoys anything from the time period and collects all of the memorabilia possible be it magazines, actions figures, video games, or even floppy disks. When he's not at work at his job as a barista he loves going to arcades and he skateboards with a passion. He has all of the high scores on all of the arcade machines in his local area and is notorious for being great at them among the local children. He learned many skateboarding tricks from the old VHS tapes his father would watch with him when he was young and eventually picked up skateboarding as one of his many hobbies. Now he often goes to skate parks with his two friends when they want a friend's night out. Matt is also quite talented at surfing.
Current
One day while skating home from work, Matt saw something that caught his interest in an alleyway. When he picked up the object it turned out to be a mysterious pocket watch. He turned the dial on it and got sent back to the 1980's. When Matt returned to his time, he quickly showed his best friends the pocket watch and the three quickly started going on adventures in the past.
Polly Evans
[ Best Friend ] Matt met Polly in high school. Matt had the same math class as Polly and they became quick friends after Matt asked her for help with a math problem; Polly's blunt sarcasm and Matt's gullible and guileless personality made for an interesting pair. Matt developed a puppy crush on Polly in high school, but quickly realized that they would be better as friends.
Alex Warner
[ Best Friend ] Matt met Alex in high school. They met after Polly had introduced the two. It was hard for Matt to get Alex out of his shell, but they grew close with time. Alex is Matt's best bro, and they like to get into lots of trouble together.
Twelve
[ Enemy ] Twelve is an android who was sent to find and destroy Matt and his friends due to them messing with timelines.
