Coal joined the King's army willingly, wanting to be strong and brave like the King. He was put into Lain's command several times, and harbors a huge crush and great respect for his superior. Over the course of the war, he tried in many different attempts to woo the yellow cat, only feeling more and more encouraged as Lain let them continue. However, his attempts at courtship weren't acceptable to a certain someone...

Coal was in the final fight of the war, and was taken prisoner by the Flock and made to repair their camp. He's the main figurehead putting together the plan for a rebellion against the Flock, and he wants Lain on their side. Coal wants to rekindle his relationship with Lain, now that they are free to do so. And just like before, Lain let's them happen. But this time, there isn't anything in the way to stop Coal from getting what he wants.
