"I know... you were a good little girl who never chased princes when you were my age..."

- Vicky's son Tommy, whom she had been completely lied to about her past.
Vicky Beaufort (née Padginson, 17 AGE - ) is a counsellor from Gabrieltown, in Lennart Kingdom.

Appearance

Vicky has long, flowing blonde hair, and dark brown eyes. Many of her male peers found her attractive - but nevertheless, she spent her teenage years trying her hardest to look as pretty as she could (some would say she tried too hard). Her efforts involved applying as much lipstick and make-up as she could afford; wearing vibrant outfits that were padded to accentuate her figure; and even drinking potions that temporarily altered her appearance.

Once she became an adult, Vicky cut her hair slightly shorter, and stopped spending so much of her money on fancy dresses and cosmetics, instead embracing her natural look. Once she did so, most men commented that she looked better than she had done during her teenage years.

Personality

As a teenager, Vicky was a complete airhead. She daydreamed a lot, and lacked focus with her education and work: the only thing she cared about was boys (and, in particular, princes). And she attracted plenty of them - but once they discovered just how shallow she was, they rarely stayed with her for long.

In her adulthood, Vicky has turned this around, and developed much greater self-discipline. She realises that she valued completely the wrong things in life - and she does her best to pass these lessons on to her children. However, she's still not the most honest person in the world: she's so ashamed of her past that she tries to deny that it ever happened...

Relationships

Jocelyn - Vicky's best friend from her teenage years. Together, they fantasised about their favourite young princes, and shared tips on how to attract boys. Of course, they've long since grown out of this, but they remain steadfast friends today: when Vicky became more serious about work, Jocelyn gave her valuable career advice - and when Jocelyn eventually started a family, Vicky was her go-to for parenting advice.

Rommel / Ronald - The Crown Prince of Waldia, who was Vicky's and Jocelyn's greatest teenage crush. In the end, Vicky did become romantically involved with him; however, after a couple of months, it was clear that there was no prospect of marriage. Therefore, they went their separate ways: Rommel continued engaging in his romantic flings (including, eventually, one with Jocelyn), while Vicky moved on to the next prince.

Henrik - The King of Kemmelreich, whom Vicky attempted to marry in her teenage years. Given Henrik's utter lack of interest in romance, combined with the 218-year age gap between himself and Vicky, it should come as no surprise that this did not go well. Henrik now goes out of his way to avoid any social engagement with Vicky - or, as he knows her, "Bleedin' custard tart!".

Story

Childhood and Princely Dreams

Vicky Padginson was born in the year 17 AGE, to a doctor named Lucian, and his wife Carly. Lucian's work meant he was very well-paid - and therefore, he could afford fancy clothes and a large doll's house for his daughter. She enjoyed countless hours of her childhood dressing as a princess, and acting out the lives of princes and princesses with her dolls - and it left her determined to become a princess one day.

Lucian wished for Vicky to follow in his footsteps, and become a doctor herself. Therefore, he had her enrolled into Lennart Kingdom's top medical school at the age of five. Unfortunately, she paid little to no attention in her lessons - instead preferring to spend all day playing with her dolls. As a result, she dropped out with no qualifications at the age of 16 - much to her parents' dismay. However, in her mind, she did not need a job as a doctor, or any of the income it brought: she was going to marry a prince.

Vicky got a job as a waitress: a role in which she would be immediately noticeable to visiting princes. The first of these was Prince Lysander of New Atlantis - who was still unmarried at 21, and absolutely desperate for a partner. He happily took Vicky - but his ineptitude with women meant it couldn't last, and, a month later, she left him. The next prince to visit was the handsome Prince Rommel of Waldia - on whom she had always had a crush. They shared a wonderful date at that evening's dance - and Rommel was so impressed that he invited her back to Waldia. She gladly accepted, and lived there with him for the next couple of months - but her initial enthusiasm gradually ebbed away, as he continued to chase other girls while he was with her. She reluctantly accepted there was no prospect of marriage - and returned to Lennart Castle.

By the time Vicky was 18, she had dated over a dozen princes, without success. As a result, she set her sights even higher: she tried to throw herself at King Henrik of Kemmelreich. Knowing he was a fan of Dwarvish biscuits, she did her best to bake a hundred of them, all laced with love potion. However, when she presented them to him, he simply grumbled that they were charred and burnt. Still, Vicky continued to flirt with him, unwilling to take 'No' for an answer. She persisted and persisted - until Henrik lost his patience, and bashed her on the head with his hammer, so hard that she spent two months in the infirmary with a concussion.

Maturity, Motherhood and Career

Once she was out of the infirmary, Vicky finally reconsidered her path in life. She realised that pursuing princes wasn't enough: she had to build a life of her own, and not just be at the centre of someone else's.

Thus, she finally followed her father's footsteps into the medical profession. Of course, she didn't have the qualifications to work as a doctor - but she was able to serve as a nurse. One of her first patients was Sergent Oliver Beaufort: a military official who had injured his ankle in battle. He was very pleased with the service he received from Vicky - and, he remained in touch with her after he recovered. Less than two years later, they were married - and three years after that, they had welcomed two sons, named Jakey and Tommy.

By now, Vicky had well and truly turned her life around - and she wished to put this experience to use for the betterment of other people's lives. Thus, she began to divide her work hours between nursing duties, and serving as a counsellor. By the time she was 27 years old, she graduated from her training program, and was ready to start offering counselling sessions. However, she didn't begin right away, as she was about to have her third child: a girl named Janey. She took a year off in order to raise her new daughter - but when she returned from maternity leave, she began offering a vital empathetic voice to the depressed and struggling, to help them battle their inner demons.

Now in her late thirties, Vicky has opened her own counselling practice, in her birthplace of Gabrieltown. Her husband and her two younger children live there with her; however, her oldest son Jakey has moved away to Lennart Castle. He doesn't have the greatest of relationships with her - partly because he's embarrassed by the name 'Jakey' (he prefers to go by 'Jacob'), but mostly because of her strictness. She was so determined to stop her children from going down the same path as her, that she refused to allow them to engage in romantic relationships at all. Furthermore, she was so embarrassed by her own past that she refused to acknowledge it: she falsely claimed she was a wholesome young lady who always stayed at home every night. Naturally, Jacob rebelled against this mother's draconian ways, and jumped at any chance to date princesses - such as Ana of New Atlantis.

Will Vicky ever be able to repair her relationship with her eldest son - and prevent the same from happening with her other two children?

Trivia

Vicky speaks two languages: Common Lennartine, and Modern Archonic. She also knows a few words of Modern Lumic (which she learned from Jocelyn).
