DESCRIPTION

A looming presence that drains all light and energy from a room - Ida's a black hole of a woman. A scientist who's almost as cold and rigid as her formulas, this mom is lifeless, laughless, and loveless. An eerie neutrality is the only emotion she really allows herself to show to most people - anything else is bottled up nice and neatly, set on a high shelf of her mind where even she can't reach. Ida's thought process is very technical, very rarely considering the feelings involved. The only times Ida opens her mouth are to correct or chastise - she'd probably correct a baby for coloring outside the lines. Actually... her daughter can attest that she definitely has. Despite her harshness, Ida is a loving and nurturing mother. Ida's chilly demeanor totally falls apart around her daughter, whos the only one who can really make her smile or laugh. She has high confidence and pride in her little star, Sylviana, but worries her obstinance will have her burn out before she has the chance to truly shine.

Ida herself is currently working on projections of a strange astral body she had discovered in the observatory she runs. Ida remembered how it whirled, seeming to undulate and grow - then a few weeks after begining to document it, she was suddenly blinded. Her condition does give her some bitterness, as the beautiful expanse of space she looked up to her whole life as a source of intrigue and comfort was torn away. Yet the years have burned those stars onto the backs of Ida's eyelids - she is an observatory all her own. Disabled or not, Ida is even more motivated to discover what exactly it is that she saw that day: even if most believe it to be a washed-up delusion.
