The twins Hela and Brynja came into the care of the Crusade after an informant within the Dread Circus reported that two young fillies were being held captive by the Circus’ leadership.

Brynja, though strong and able-bodied, refused to escape the Circus despite death looming over the foals. Her fierce love for her sister wouldn’t allow her to leave— not even to seek help. Brynja did all in her power to shield her sister from further abuse by Woundwort, General of the Circus. She was wary of Fortuna and Grimm’s aid, though she eventually came to accept them as they helped Hela recover. After being rescued by the Crusade, Brynja began to train as a Legionnaire. Her beliefs fall into a similar vein to many Crusaders— though Brynja believes that monsters come in many forms. Sometimes, true evil is found within their own species. It is her desire to one day see Lord Casimir’s demise.
