Cricket is a simple spinarak, just trying to make it in the world. They aren't the greatest at anything involving combat or getting food, but they try to be supportive of those around them. They'll try cheering up anyone whom they see is sad (unless said sad person has tried hurting them recently). They're gullible and naive, trusting extremely easily of others, even when it's clear they shouldn't.
Even with their small size and lack of knowledge and experience about most things, they try their best to contribute to the group. They make webs whenever they think it'll help, or give small gifts to show they appreciate their friends helping them.

They've been born to a large spinarak family, with many siblings. Cricket isn't extremely experienced, even after trying to learn for a while, causing them to get left behind quickly. Most of their family, especially the parents and some older siblings, were still kind about it, and tried helping them with getting food and such. But as time goes on, everyone else needed to move on, and couldn't just help them all the time.
To try learning to fend for themself, they left the main Spinarak area more often, believing they could improve if there was nobody else to ask help from. But they were still not quick enough to catch prey or avoid threats, causing them to get in danger multiple times, lucking out in many cases or having a family member get them out of the bad situation. But they persisted, determined to get to a point where they could help themself, staying up late a lot in order to do this with minimal danger.
One day, they saw Alejo, defending pokemon from humans, and instantly thought he was cool. They quietly followed him around, unsure if he even knew they existed or not. But one day, they had conflict with a Victreebel, almost getting eaten before Alejo intervened, getting them out of the situation and giving the Victreebel something else to eat. The two have teamed up since then.
Present
They are currently with Alejo and the rest of the group. They occasionally go to see their family often when everyone else is asleep, but usually comes back, feeling bad about their weaknesses.

They look up to Alejo, and have even before being saved by him. They think he's really cool and wants to be able to fight like he does one day.
