Ryland’s dream was always to be a hero like the kind he read about in storybooks growing up. He always wanted to be able to come home and tell his brother and mom about his amazing feats, and have them be really true, unlike the tall tales he’d make up as a boy. That was why, when he heard the Princess had been captured, he set out to rescue her himself — despite his lack of fighting experience and rookie status. However, Ryland makes up for everything by thinking quickly on his feet and having a healthy dose of luck. Once he teams up with his other party members, they all help teach him things that make him easily the strongest of the group, and soon, he comes to be very good with a sword. Ryland has the most innocent heart out of everyone in the group, and is very passionate and emotional. Sometimes, he has a bratty personality. But because of his good heart, the party trusts him and looks to him for direction — even though they do a lot of playful bullying towards him, too. Ryland is close to Ubiquity, whose disciplined and quiet personality contrasts his abrasive and excitable one. They are THE golden retriever & black cat duo of all time.
