Trait

She lost her hearing in both ears around the end of her warriors training due to degeneration. Her speech remained relatively unchanged after losing her hearing albeit affecting the crispness and certain intonation over time.

Trait

Not enjoying getting sunlight in her eyes; her backside ended up more sunbathed than the rest of her body.

Trait

Deeply enjoying the sensation and comfort of bushy foliage, the family's den was nearly as plant-filled as the healer's nest.

About

An assertive, fierce yet graceful she-cat with an intimidatingly level-headed presence; Licoricespeck was a multiskilled warrior often tasked with gathering medicinal herbs thanks to her vast knowledge of their properties and locations. She was also a sharp-witted and swift fighter never held back by her loss of hearing. Building a physical signaling language together with close relatives and friends soon spread to the rest of Corvidclan; greatly assisting hunting and patrolling. She would often team up with her daughter Silkshade if they had to take on opponents and helping each other cover weak spots and have each others' backs.

She was known to be kind and respectable in a calm and comforting way but serious when needed. She wasn't afraid to get her paws dirty if it meant a task would be completed and she would often jokingly scoff at the younger cats if they tried to get away from boring duties. There was always a motherly aura to eyes and voice even towards cats outside of her own kin. Few dared to oppose her fierce glare nor her experienced decisionmaking.

Her daughters

Licoricespeck adored her daughters with every ounce of her being and she'd seldom let them out of her sight growing up. They all spent their mornings and evenings together cuddling, singing and telling each other of their day. She was also extremely fond of Omenpaw and saw the undoubdful potential in her future leadership as a kindhearted and righteous cat. Her daughter Velvetpaw doting on the apprentice was impossible to miss and she fondly envisioned the young cats future lives as mates together.

Her life forever changed when her recently made healer of a daughter passed away due to overexposing herself to the sick cats she desperately tried to heal. Licoricespeck was left shattered and forever lost a part of herself that day. Mourning alongside her second daughter Silkshade and now daughter in law Omensky they supported each other through moons of heartbreak.

Many moons later, during Crowingheart's rise to power, Licoricespeck was one of the strongest forces going against him. Adamant that Omenpaw would accept her rightful and deserving place as heir to the leader position. Being a cat with strong visions she could sense that Crowingheart already walked with one paw in the dark forest whilst she knew Omenpaw would lead their clan to prosperity. The sinister tomcat could read the convictions in her opposing eyes and in private threathed to kill her one remaining daughter, now facing a risk she could never take she reluctantly obeyed and stayed silent as she continued to provide for her clan and family.

Ties to the sky

Licoricespeck loss of hearing elevated most of her other senses; including taking in the strange auras of the nature and air surrounding the territory. She already had odd, seemingly prophetic dreams as a younger cat, becoming more aware of her senses unlocked and cleared a fog that seemed to cloud her dreams before. She likes to think starclan blessed her in hopes of being able to further aid her clan would it ever be in need.

Her interest and knowledge of the clan's history, traditions and methods as well as having a good understanding of corvids and receving many of their messages meant that she held a respectable position as a translator and messenger of starclan; together with being commendable at hunting and survival strategies when reading the birds' movements and behaviours. She was vital in sharing the old wisdoms and tactics that let them hunt and evade danger alongside the corvids up in the sky.

Albeit fear and hestistation clouded her heart from telling anyone else: she was certain she'd caught glimpses of spirit cats swirling past; only seen in the corners of her eyes and hidden amongst the shadows of the tall trees. The most significant time was shortly after the passing of her daughter when time felt the most hopeless. For a moment Licoricespeck swore she could see the outlines of the dainty healer standing right by Omensky's side, although the dark warrior didn't seem to notice. Even if Licoricespeck couldn't be certain wether to trust her eyes, her paws felt a little lighter from that day onwards.

Velvetquince [ Daughter ]

Their familial love was boundless and young Velvetpaw had a hard time leaving her mother during the day for training. Everyday Licoricespeck wishes she'd done anything to prevent the unecessary death of her beloved daughter.

Silkshade [ Daughter ]

After the loss of Velvetquince their bond grew stronger, they struggled to keep up their old traditions but Licoricespeck still insisted on braiding her daughter's fur as they'd hum somber melodies together.

Omensky [ Clanmate ]

She was fond of- and deeply impressed by the young warrior's brave, selfless heart and many already honed and varied skills. They enjoyed casually conversing about anything and everything all throughout their lives.

Crowingheart [ Clanmate ]

She swore vengeance or karma would catch up to the tyrannical leader she was forced to serve under, although she despised his methods she couldn't deny the pure raw power and skills he possessed.
