Lore/beliefs

Past corvidcats; now one with starclan are said to watch the ones still bound to earth through the eyes of the blackest birds. Ravens, crows and other corvids are higly respected and regarded as messengers between the living and the dead. It is rare but possible for some cats to be gifted with the ability to communicate and receive messages and prophecies from their ancestors; either through visions and dreams or become led by their spirital apperation or a bird host.

For as long as the clan's existence cats and the corvids have lived in a mutual alliance. The elders tell stories of their cooperative hunting during hard times as well as being saved from outside threats. These cats know better than to kill a crow.

Importance of black fur

Throughout the generations of Corvidclan-cats the selection of appearance have played an significant role. The strong belief that crows and cats share history, purpose and connection is of utmost importance to represent through a visual aspect. In the old times kits whose genes didn't suffice to appeal the clan would be neclegted or cast out; most often ending up dead because of it. Some of the clan's myths tell how the historical alliances in trying times would never have been possible without the visual resemblance of the corvids: gaining their trust by looking like them.

This mindset would also aid in the clan's long-lasting survival. Dark fur was the best adaption to their habitat: dark and shady forests with lot's of carnivoruous birds being their biggest threat. Not only that but the clan's stronger hunting traits lies in the acts of stalking, hiding and agility; resulting in darker fur being optimal for blending in and moving unseen. They also frequently hunt alongside crows and ravens, as they watch the sky for prey and dangers the cats leave out rests for them to eat in return.

Other

It's rare to see venturing cats near the Corvidclan territory due to it residing close to the edge of the ocean surrounded by difficult terrain and high mountains. Few know of the place let alone cross it's path. Crowsong only ever runs into one other cat during her travels past the mountains towards the marsh.

In the far past Corvidclan travelled in hopes for a better home, when they arrived at the howling peaks some were too sick, young or old to risk crossing the high mountains. So the group split and those who stayed behind and ventured back eventually became Wingedclan. Those who strode onwards across the snow-covered peaks would eventually reach the territory of today's Corvidclan grounds.

With time as both clans developed and interactions happened every so often, but when Wingedclan learned of Corvidclan's questionable morals the took great distance and refused to communicate with them further. Both clans were like day and night in terms of acceptance regarding clan-members with Horizon clan accepting any cat no matter the circumstance while Corvidclan kept to their strict and immoral ways of life.
