Overview

A sharp smile and an almost uncontrollable pull leaves men and women alike lusting after the oddly charasmatic young man simply known as "Vinci". His brightly colored hair and aggressive facial scars attract the eyes to him, and charm magic keeps them there. He beds anyone willing to, but any unlucky enough to find themselves in love with the charming man will quickly find themselves meeting a completely opposite personality of the one they had been beguiled by. Cruel words, disgusted looks, and mocking laughter will swiftly be directed towards them once they profess their feelings. Even after being a target of his hate, Vinci is one that makes people say "I can fix him".

WHAT? WHO ARE YOU AGAIN? SORRY, I DON'T REMEMBER ALL THE TRASH I SLEEP WITH.

The Good

Vinci can be described as nothing less than charming. Or at least, that's what his magic tells you to think. He magnetically pulls eyes to him when he walks in, exuding confidence from his walk, his smirk, his eyes. He has a way he looks at you that makes you think you're the most important person in the world to him. There's something eerily comfortable about his presence and the way people are drawn to him right away. Upon talking to him, he's a bit childish, liking to tell jokes and behaving a bit flirtatiously. However, sometimes he'll drop the act at random; losing his smile, rolling his eyes, and scoffing or sighing at nothing in particular. His charm magic prevents people from noticing and some nights he'll not even try at all and be as rude as he wants to people. He'll still end up with a bed partner though. He feels a bit lonely because of this, even if he doesn't realize it himself.

The Bad

Vinci doesn't care if he hurts someone, whether it be physical or mental, as long as he gets what he wants. If anyone rejects him that he had considered beneath him, he will quickly lose his temper and show a nasty side usually reserved for those who confess their love to him. He is very good at picking up people's desires and using it against them. If there's an opportunity to get back at or trick someone into sex, he will take it. He holds a slight resentment for mortals and does not respect them. He doesn't respect anyone really, including himself. He has poor hygiene and wears the same clothes daily until he finds a bed partner he can steal his next outfit from. He doesn't really care to take care of his looks, because he thinks there is no point when he has his charm magic. If he cleaned up, however, he would be extremely beautiful.

The Ugly

His personality can be summarized into one focal point, and that is Albion Cresil. Vinci may be selfish and use mortals in order to survive, but all other thoughts revolve around the half vampire. He'll steal his possessions, sleep outside his house, hell he'll even break into his house and sleep on the couch, all in order to be close to him and get his attention. All others are objects to be used and broken as needed.

Design notes

  • Noticable features are his shaggy green hair, his large, foxlike eyes and his slightly pointed ears.
  • Will usually have bangs covering his forehead scars; likes having an undercut but is lazy with maintaining it.
  • Has huge mutilation scars that go across his entire forehead from where his horns were removed. He also has two large scars on either side of his lower back as well from his wing removal. All scars are pink and healed over, but are still quite rough and nasty looking, especially his forehead ones. Visible on both his human and incubus form.
  • A demonic seal on his back prevents him from going back to hell and is vaguely visible in both forms. It is faded and damaged by the scars on his back. Does not prevent him from traveling to other worlds or dimensions.
  • Has long, sharp black nails that cannot be cut as the material of them are too solid. They resemble bone or claw material.
  • He has poor hygiene habits, mainly because he's not used to having to take care of himself constantly as humans do. He'll wear the same clothes every day until he gets a one night stand that he can steal from to get a clean set of clothes. Although he steals clothes from his bed partners, he does prefer one specific outfit and will often wear it between affairs. It consists of low rise cuffed jeans, platform sandals, and a black cardigan, left unbuttoned.
  • Since he runs hotter than a normal human, Vinci prefers to not wear a shirt. He's a bit of a show off anyway and enjoys flaunting his tattoos.
  • ALMOST ALWAYS SMOKING!

Beginnings

  • Sex demons are born from the impregnation of a sleeping woman by an incubus.
  • Demons consider anyone that is not a demon a mortal, regardless if they are human or some kind of immortal being like a vampire.

Vincentius' story begins in Salem, a year prior to the infamous witch trials of the late 17th century. His mother was a poor Puritan woman who was the eldest daughter of a small farming family. She was pretty but plain, unmarried, and had a certain mischevious and bratty streak that got her in trouble more often than not. This was especially true in a household that asserted religious piety and obedience under male authority. When she did not grow out of her ways as she got older, foul play was interpreted and a priest was brought in to "cleanse her of the demon inside" and to "get rid of her fits". The unneeded exorcism brought the attention of an actual demon, who had already been keeping an eye on the ever radicalizing Salem. Amused, the incubus visited the woman in her sleep, feeding off her energy and impregnating her.

Vincentius was born that same night, from the union of his sleeping, unaware human mother and incubus father. Vincentius' father briefly considering leaving him for the humans to find for amusement, but ultimately chose to whisk Vincentius back down to hell with him to be raised as a proper demon. Vincentius' mother, however, would speak for weeks to come of the strange dream she'd had that fateful night; of the demon that visited her and the child she gave birth to. Seeing this as her "condition" worsening, she endured many exorcisms and later beatings to get the demon out of her. That year when winter hit and their livestock began to get sick and die, her family were quick to turn a suspicious eye onto her. Ultimately, when the Salem witch trials began a few months later, she was one of the first to be burnt at the stake.

Childhood

  • Although Ignatius and Vinci are half-brothers, they never considered the human part of their heritage valid and think of themselves as full siblings due to their father.
  • Incubi are also known as "desire spirits" and feed off the desires of humans in their sleep. Although they are thought to exclusively get energy from sex, this is not true. It is, however, the easiest way for them to feed as most humans have a desire for physical intimacy.

Vincentius was raised in hell by his strict father, who had such high expectations of him as a demon that he was treated like a soldier rather than a son. His much older brother, Ignatius, was seen as a failure and was not at all interested in feeding off of or tricking mortals. In fact, he was much more interested in the fantasy of becoming a human, and was quite vocal of that fact. By the time Vinci was born, their father had already given up on trying to change Ignatius and instead put all of his effort into raising Vinci "right". Worried that he could grow to be like his brother, he was especially strict and overly harsh in his teachings. His goal was not only to groom Vinci as a powerful incubi but specifically one who hated and thought nothing of humans in particular. He was incredibly successful in this feat and to Vinci there was no difference to him between humans, animals, or dirt on the side of the road. This impression ended up extending to all mortals, however. There was no way to him that any non-demon had feelings let alone thoughts in their head.

Vincentius loved what he was and embraced it at every turn, looking forward to the chance to finally have his first real human feeding. He had been surviving on lesser demons as he grew, and he was often rude and mocking to his elder brother to whom he looked down on for his foolish beliefs on what he saw as the cattle of the world. Vinci was raised to be a brash, uncaring trickster who thrived on the thought of entering human dreams and using them for his own gain. He was taught to not care much for figuring out desires of humans and to opt for the easy route of having sex. His brother Ignatius of course was the exact opposite of him, abhorring what he was and refusing to take energy from mortals due to his liking of them. He instead opted to steal energy from other demons instead. Vincentius did not try to push his brother to embrace his nature, and instead was cocky and mocked him at any chance he had. This grew a rift between the brothers from a young age, and encouraged Ignatius to hold a deep resentment for his younger sibling.

First Feeding

  • Incubi can feed from the energy of any type of creature, but humans have the most pure and crisp form of energy, which make them a favored feeding target. For example, a werewolf's energy is always tinged with rage, which for a desire demon, the energy would taste bitter and unsatisfying.
  • Incubi have to be careful how much energy they take from someone as they are literally feeding off their life force. Taking too much can result in sickness and even death of a mortal.

When Vinci was old enough, his father allowed him to enter into a mortal dream of his choosing for his first feeding. By random choice he ended up choosing a young human sailor in the Royal Navy, who was on the hunt for pirates of the time. Going into a human's dream felt as easy as breathing for Vincentius. His father had told him that some demons were hesitant to enter a human's mind because of alerting or hurting them, but that would certainly never happen if they were demons of skill. Certainly Vinci had none of these reservations before entering, and when the human did not even twitch from the invasion it simply bolstered his cockiness.

The feeding was a drawn out affair, as Vinci wanted to make the experience last. He went overboard with fulfilling every type of desire the young man had, both physical and mental, forgetting his reservations about such acts to bask in the pure energy he was taking so much of. Once he was done the young sailor was left as nothing but a shell of a human, as Vinci had taken too much of his life energy and it had left him at death's door. Uncaringly, Vincentius allowed the man to die and even laughed, watching as he did so. When he told his father of the experience the man had a slight worry to his brow but ultimately did not scold him for it and simply reminded Vinci that killing all the cattle would leave none in the future.

The Half-Vampire

  • Albion was able to resist Vinci's ability due to his own special magic, which is rare among magical creatures against something like a demon, but not unheard of.

One night many, many years after his first feeding, Vincentius entered the dreams of a half-vampire, intending to take his fill of energy as usual. It wasn't his typical human target but he didn't have as many qualms about feeding from non-humans as other demons. Vampires had a cold, freezer burn type of taste that left an ashy flavor in the mouth, making them highly undesirable. Being a half-vampire meant that this mortal would have a bit of an old and stale taste but not nearly as bad as his pureblooded counterparts. Vinci wasn't one to be picky and was considered a glutton among his peers, often feeding throughout the night and getting drunk off energy. He rubbed them the wrong way with his extreme thinking and abrasive, selfish personality- even for a demon.

The half vampire he drunkenly went to that night was conscious in his dreams and was the first to resist his advances and even managed to eject Vincentius from his dreamscape. Shocked, Vinci was flabberghasted that not only something so lesser, meat in his eyes, was able to reject his magic but also had a mind of his own. He had fed from monsters in the past, what made this thing so different? He became obsessed with the hunt and pursued this mortal's dreams every night in attempts to succeed in feeding from his energy, but eventually became completely locked out of his mind. Furious, Vinci rose to the challenge, and physically went to the mortal world where the half vampire was from in attempts to charm him and get his desired meal. This was highly out of character for Vinci as he thought the mortal realm was one big farm: dirty, smelly, and full of pigs and cattle. However, he was nothing if not a prideful and arrogant demon so away he went.

The half-vampire, Albion, initially shook off the oddity of what he imagined was something only in his dreams, only to realize the thing following and bothering him constantly was an honest to god demon. He was extremely curious about the spritual aspect of the world and perhaps didn't discard of Vinci as swiftly as he usually did to annoyances. He kept the demon at arm's length to observe his behavior and study him, much like a pinned butterfly on a board. Vincentius paraded around like a huffy child, trying to seduce Albion and throwing fits when it didn't work as it usually did. Albion grew tired of this behavior even with his thirst for knowledge, and was quick to punish such childish whinging. Vinci was shocked at this gall initially, a mortal lecturing him? But soon he began to consider other ways to seduce Albion, no longer just a random half-vampire, and tapped into his innate senses of desire. He wasn't as clear to read as other mortals, it was like hearing static in an already choppy message or looking through a screen at night, but he could feel the great thirst to know things in Albion's core. Vinci began to play along to an extent, telling him things he was curious to know, attempting to pick at his energy while his mind was elsewhere- unsuccessfully, of course. Eventually however Vincentius found himself looking forward to each meeting with the half-vampire and started to feel something he had never felt before: affection. It shook him to his core but instead of heading home to shake off the feeling and start his previous life again, he stayed. It was a choice that led him to ruin.

Staying allowed the feelings to fester within him, as Vincentius instigated more and more meetings with the somber half-vampire. His affection grew to love. It was a perversion of his nature and it confused him deeply. Love is not meant to exist within a demon and so it twisted into something more familiar: obsession. Of course his fixation was there already, but this only heightened and corrupted it to something unrecognizable. It wasn't long before his father found out about his transgression and swiftly summoned him home.

Trials and Tribulations

  • The killing of mortals is generally looked down upon as they exist as a life force for many demons and spirits.
  • A demon becoming corrupted by the development of feelings for a mortal is dangerous, not only because it will twist their nature into something ugly from the rejection of unnatural feelings, but also because prioritizing a mortal over your own kind is seen as a threat to demons.

Vincentius reluctantly went home to face his father, finally feeling a bit of shame for his actions. To grow fond for a thing like a mortal was heresy. Even among the few demons his brother was friends with, he had never met or even heard of someone who had begun to care for a mortal like this. Fantasize to be one, or not want to feed from them sure, but to desire to touch them when not needing to or stare at the way the light kissed their skin in the morning was disgusting. It was like wanting to cherish a slab of meat.

Upon arrival to hell, Vinci's father questioned him on his whereabouts. He was worried that with Vinci's escalating behavior before he disappeared, he had gone and killed a bunch of humans in a drunken state. Vinci was flippant, lashing out that it was not his business. His father grew alarmed with this type of avoidant response, as Vinci was usually one to boast about his actions, even questionable ones. A bad feeling in his gut, he went to the human realm where Vinci had been seen hanging around by other spirits to try and investigate.

Vincentius was left alone at home to stew in his thoughts in the months to come. He vowed to never return to the half-vampire again, and attempted to restart how he had used to live before he had ever met him. It only lasted a few weeks before he went again to the human realm, but this time only to watch Albion from afar rather than interact with him. He told himself that there was no harm in looking, that he wasn't doing anything bad. But his perverted desires once again took hold and he could not stop himself from beginning to take things from Albion, tucking them away back to hell with him to keep close. Of course his brother found these things eventually, and finding it highly amusing that Vinci of all people wanted human trinkets, teased him relentlessly for it. When Vinci's father eventually came home and was shown the trinkets by Ignatius, it only confirmed his suspicions from his snooping that Vincentius had fallen in love with a mortal.

His father took him before the demonic court to be tried for this corruption. They made Vinci make a choice: to stay in the demonic and dream realms, never to physically interact with Albion again to avoid further corruption, or to choose to be forever chained to his mortal obsession. He would not be able to step foot into hell while linked, and his soul would be owned by the mortal in the form of a contract. Vinci was at a loss with what to do, begging for time to think, but it was denied. Going with his deeply held beliefs, he settled on staying in hell, thinking he would be fine with the things he had stolen in his times in the human realm. He was, however, not. It quickly became not enough for him and all his renewed attempts to invade Albion's dreams were once again unsuccessful. In his madness he tried multiple times to go back to the demon he once was before he had met Albion and that too was unattainable.

Recklessly Vinci became careless in his feedings, beginning to kill more and more mortals with his overindulgence. He was warned to not continue in these acts as it had consequences for the other demons and spirits. Vinci did not care and recklessly continued in his violence. This soon had him placed back in the demonic court, but there was no choice for this crime. Deeming him harmful to both demon and mortal kind, they decided to chain him to hell, never to leave. His horns, wings, and tail were all either mutilated or removed, and he had a seal burned onto his back chaining him to the demonic realm.

After the trial, Vincentius was swiftly put into prison to serve some time for his misdeeds. He was left to reflect on his actions for an innumerable amount of years, staring into the mouldering blocks of his sweaty, stuffy cell. He thought, and thought, and thought- about Albion. He felt mad with wanting and regret. Perhaps he should have taken the deal during his first trial, even if it meant being at the mercy and command of the twisted man he was so obsessed with. However, his reality now prevented that fantasy from ever coming true. He pondered about the possibility of removing or reversing the seal placed on him, but knew that it was most likely impossible. For the first time in his life, while sitting in a hellish cell and scarred beyond belief, Vincentius cried.

Some years later, seeming as though he had sobered up, Vinci was released and sent home where he would have to be suitabley re-educated about the balance of life. His father took upon this task with vigor, and while Vincentius pretended to be rehabilitated, secretly he began research about demonic sealing. He looked into every resource he could, including forbidden ones with steep prices. Ignatius found his studies soon enough.

WANTED

Lasting Consequences

  • Vinci will often break into Albion's house or sleep in his garden in hopes to gain his attention.
  • He has dangerous thoughts about Albion in that if he can't have him, no one can.

Having been thrown from his home, Vincentius dragged himself to Albion in hopes to be taken in and cherished as he had feverishly dreamed of. He was met with clinical eyes and a skilled healing hand but nothing more, allowed to stay only as long as it took him to recover his injuries. Even after this perceived rejection, Vinci couldn't bring himself to hate the half-vampire. No matter how much his beliefs told him to, and no matter how much it pained him to be near, it was as though a piece of him would always belong to the chilly man.

Stuck now in the mortal realm having lost everything and gained nothing, Vincentius turned to partying and narcotics the mortal way to numb his rejection and the reality he was now chained to. Vinci even took it upon himself to try and avoid Albion initially, as though in protest. He had many troubles adapting to society, behaving cruelly and inhumane to those who were in contact with him, not even bothering to use his charm magic to mask it. Some nights he would even call people "cattle" to their face. This, of course, earned him a punch straight to the teeth more often than not. Vinci despised mortals and hated every moment he was trapped in this so-called barn with them. Vinci still survived as an incubi do, through fulfilling the desires of others, and he still had his magic to charm and trick, but no matter what he did he could not reach the high he had felt before meeting the half-vampire.

He fed deeply most nights, feeling horribly bitter, and often killing mortals in his callousness. The police were quick to brush off these deaths as simple drug or alcohol overdoses from low-lifes and did not bother looking much into it. The same could not be said for demons, as they came to punish Vinci soon enough for still behaving in such a way. He was left many nights beaten in alleyways from those who were once his peers. Once the initial sulking wore off, he would occasionally try and use his injuries as an excuse to get Albion to help him once again, though was more often than not turned away at the door. Every time it seemed that he told himself it would be the last time were the nights Albion would let him in and dress his wounds. Obsessiveness still gripped Vinci deeply despite his best efforts of shaking it, and he was not able to avoid for long his habit of stalking outside the window and compulsively stealing his things once again.

Albion had become well aware of this little fixation as some of his things had begun to disappear a number of months ago, but it took a little time to piece together it was Vinci stealing it. Viewing this as an opportunity to keep the unstable, but unique, demon close and on a leash, he allowed him to continue his little hobby as he never seemed to take anything meaningful. Trash, discarded pens, or used cutlery seemed to be the objects Vinci gravitated to the most. When he realized Vinci would steal for him as well as from him, well, sometimes one or two little things may have slipped into his conversations about a certain document or useful item. Allowing the demon occasional nightly visits as the time passed on was an easy way to keep a powerful being in his pocket.

As Vinci's new reality has settled in over the years, he has calmed down in his violence towards others. Of course, if someone were to get in his way of him trying to woo Albion, he might just have a little accident when paying them a nighttime visit. Old prejudices die hard as well, as the rare times when a mortal rejects his advances is when he becomes the most ugly, furious that a piece of meat like them could ever disregard him. There is no room for any more special beings in his mind and so he is quick to discard of these broken would-be toys. Vinci also holds a special vitriol for those who confess their undying love for him, as not only does he claim to not understand it but it stings at the deepest and most bitter part of him.

DREAM EATER

Racial skill/spell

Difficulty
Mastery

Dip into a non-demon's dreams and bend the environment into their deepest desires - it can be non-sexual (such as winning the lottery, meeting a hero, etc). The caster is also changed to match such an environment and appears physically within the dream. It is an incubus'/succubus' inherent skill that will give them life energy once the target's desire is fulfilled within the dream; again, it can be non-sexual. Neither the target nor caster is hurt if used responsibly, though the target may wake up feeling like they did not get much sleep. (NOTE: although the caster goes physically within the dream, it is not possible to be harmed due to the target not being physically within the dream. If the target becomes lucid, the caster may be ejected from the dream). The dangers of this spell is that consuming too much life energy can cause the target to become sick or even die in extreme cases.

GLAMOUR

Spell

Difficulty
Mastery

A charm put on the caster to appear different than real appearances; strong magic users can also alter touch sensations of those affected. Can be done in the waking or dream worlds. In the waking world the charm may wear off if the caster becomes tired, or the spell can also be suddenly broken if someone physically harms the caster. Strong magic users may be able to hold the illusion despite being hurt, though repeated attacks will make it much more likely to break.

SUMMON (ILLUSION)

Spell

Difficulty
Mastery

Cast a spell in the waking world to create a minor illusion seperate from the caster. Examples may be: a giant snake, smoke or mist in an environment, a strange taste in the mouth of the target, a loud noise, etc. It may affect any of the five senses, but it cannot actually cause any harm.

SUMMON (CONJURATION)

Spell

Difficulty
Mastery

Summon a physical object to the caster from the planes of hell. Lesser demons or other living creatures may not be summoned without dying- unless previously marked with the caster's summoning sigil. Most casters use this spell to summon weapons to them in times of need; the weapons do not stay and will return to hell once their use is done with.

SHAPESHIFT

Racial skill

Difficulty
Mastery

Change between a demonic and humanoid form. Inherit to high tier demons- can not change gender. May revert to original demonic form when tired, distressed, or grievously injured.

Their relationship is complicated, as Vinci tends to harass Albion often in attempts to keep his attention. The half vampire usually ignores him, pushes him away, or focuses on his work. Either way, he keeps it purely professional, much to Vinci's distraught. Vinci is desperate for the man to love him back and will quite literally do anything for him; he has very few morals anyway. He is reaching a point that he would give his life for a speck of the doctor's affection- in his mind, he already has, after being thrown from hell. Sometimes, Vinci will even break into the man's house and lounge around while he waits for him to get home. He will often steal items from him to keep for himself, and when he doesn't have a one night stand to go home with, he'll sleep outside in Albion's garden.

Albion's large body guard who, in Vinci's opinion, is terrifying. Zhongwu picked up Vinci and threw him across the hallway once and now Vinci does not bother him at all. Vinci also finds him scary in how serious he is- he'll often try to get him to laugh or trick him into leaving Albion to no avail. Vinci isn't sure if Zhongwu is really that cold or if he's just too dumb to understand any of his jokes or witty excuses. He doesn't have a high opinion of Zhongwu, he thinks he's an obstacle from getting closer to Albion. He is one of the few people that actually make Vinci feel awkward in a conversation- it's like he has no social skills at all. Vinci tries to avoid him if he can. If he can't, and Zhongwu is coming towards him, Vinci will immediately vacate the premises.

Vinci thinks very little of his older brother. He (ironically) thinks he's a human-loving coward, who can't even bring himself to feed from the lesser beings below them. He doesn't hate him, just doesn't respect him.
