Memoirs of the Forgetful

She knows she will forget the way human faces change; How the lines etched in rock looked hundreds of years prior, or how the petals of her favourite flower bloom. She will forget the names of all the things precious to her. Every bond that she holds dear. All the things she grew to love and hate.

But she will never forget how they all made her feel.

Story

Prior to her reclusive life around the water pools of Rěnshòu's mountains, Nightglory was known to be forgetful and absentminded. Her gaze looks as though she is seeing something beyond what's in front of her. Souless amber eyes look right through you as if you don't exist. An eccentric whom was naturally outcasted.
Forgetting to eat, forgetting to sleep, yet somehow, her body seems to fluorish with each element that brings life flickering back into her eyes like a momentary spark.

"That's it! I remember now!"

Sudden thunderous waves, morph stagnant pools into an ocean. Thunder responds in the distance as if applauding her brief remembrance. Just as quickly, the waves subside and the air stills as she slips into limbo once more. It's not the memory she wants to recall. No, there's something much bigger- something that will propel waves into collosal tsunamis. She waits again in a foggy haze for the ripple that will one day turn into these endless crashing waves.

Spirit Energy

Coveting memories as treasured jewels, Nightglory's emotions begin to resonate with each one she recalls. She senses the familiar waves rippling around her and latches on. Greedy hands clasp at every particle that might help her remember more.
Like magnets drawn together and suddenly torn apart, her emotions erupt and send out enormous pulses of energy, radiating outwards in a sonar. She's searching. She's listening. Although her intentions are innocent, the damage dealt by these deviant waves is enough to alter tides.
There are few instances where she is in complete control of her emotions. However damaging her outbursts may be, the rare cases in which she utilizes her powers to propagate a memory into the distant future are profound. She fuses her emotions into a single drop of water and its ripples will one day create those memorable tides.
When you see visions of the past flooding your mind and a water source is nearby, you can bet that Nightglory has done her part as the Guardian of Memories.

Trivia

Names Nightglory - name of a white flower that blooms at night.
Mnemosyne - the Greek goddess watching over a pool in the underworld. The Mnemosyne prevents reincarnation as the river of memories.
Lethe - Greek word for oblivion, forgetfulness, or concealment. Drinking from the river Lethe in the underworld prepares one for reincarnation by erasing past memories.

Memories Nightglory's own memories are fleeting but she can infuse them in any body of water to carry it into the future. Her power allows others to view her memories as visions.

Visions The visions infused in water are almost omnipotent- like snapshots of the world at the time.

Water Water seems to be the easiest medium to infuse memories for Nightglory. As she puts it, "Water remembers the heat of the sun long after it vanishes over the horizon."

Shiranio Nightglory seldom leaves the water pools, but she may venture out to reconvene with Shiranio and Seraph, and hear stories of the old days.
