Breryk

General info/notes:

• She and her fraternal twin sister, Galamel, are hybrids, half Towerstep and half Hoofdrake. Interspecies marriage/offspring between Towerstep is highly frowned upon (unless it's with Avian goldspinners, which Towerstep have a long-standing alliance/reltions with). Breryk got much more of the hoofdrake genes than Galamel, who you can only see it if you already known tbh.
• Mel and Breryk have to constantly prove themselves to their clan-members that they are worthy to stay in the clan and deserving of (basic) respect, work hard within the beastguard and take on dangerous jobs/otherwise unsightly jobs because of this.
• Breryk is the more outgoing and excitable of the twins. She is friendly and constantly doing something... or if not doing something, probably getting into trouble trying to find something to do.
• Adept and powerful Fire mage. Has a large magic reservoir (high endurance) courtesy of her mixed hoofdrake and towerstep genes (fire mages usually have lower endurance). Able to breathe fire for long durations because of this, a skill that is uncommon even more fire mages. Breryk was given her name because of her pink and yellow flecked fur, like sparks, and because, even as an infant, she was observed breathing a few sparks. When particularly excited, Breryk will start breathing sparks (she has accidentally caught a few things on fire).
• although fire ordered individuals are common within Towerstep, the level of control and shear power that Breryk has has gainder her equal amounts of respect and resentment from her fellow towerstep.

Personality notes/trivia:

• Upbeat and bombastic, talkative and bad at regulating how loud she is (she is very loud). Doesn't like to sit around and wait, likes to do stuff and get things done, waiting makes her feel anxious and wasteful.
• Strong code of honor, especially in relation to combat and the beastguard. Though she makes them sparingly, keeps her promises at risk to her own health and wellbeing- sometimes bad enough that Galamel reels her in or breaks promises for her.
• Loves a challenge, very competitive.
• Nosy, loves some good gossip and can be bribed with gossip. She shares a love for gossip with Galamel, though Galamel wouldn't admit this.
• Adventurous and curious, but can usually restrain herself when it comes to completing beastguard tasks. She takes beastguard responsibilities very seriously, it would be dishonorable not to in her opinion.
• her public demeanor when she was a kid/teenager was much more subdued (on purpose) with a hope if she tamped down her personality and made herself as palatable to her fellow towerstep, they would accept her fully. As she grew older, she realized that wasn't going to happen, and has loosened up the last couple years. Though sometimes she still slips into this personality suppression around other towerstep.
