DC has a very odd view on Oasis. On one hand, she’s his true rival. Her magic is as powerful as his in every way, making her the only one worthy to be his adversary. On the other hand, Oasis is a lowly, pathetic, weak willed being who’s largely unfit for godhood. Her being a god is insulting to his title, and he hates his kind being brought down by the lines of her.
While he does hate her with every fiber of his being, he does enjoy her company. Perhaps it’s some sort of weird Stockholm syndrome, but DC finds wisdom in some of the things she’s told him during their counselling sessions. That being said, the wisdom he gains from Oasis is never how she intended for her words to be interpreted. He always finds some way to spin her words into a dark and twisted manner.
DC enjoys taunting Oasis and messing with her mind. He finds her weak mental state both fascinating and hilarious. Any day he’s able to send her into a full blown mental breakdown is a good day. Still, DC’s content with just making her mildly uncomfortable. Any discomfort or distress he causes her is a win in his book.
At one point Sebastian was her closest and most trusted friend. Now that he’s ascended, changing his name to DC, Oasis isn’t sure how to feel about him. He’s the only person left from her past, and she desperately wants him to somehow go back to the way he was. She’s tricked herself into believing he can be redeemed, and she’ll do whatever it takes to make that happen.
With that said, Oasis isn’t stupid. She knows he’s evil and dangerous, and she knows he’ll wreak havoc on the living world if he’s ever let go. His cruel taunts and insults really cut deep, and a lot of the times Oasis can’t handle it. Still, she has to visit him weekly at the least, otherwise his manacles won’t get refilled with blue magic and he’ll escape.
While Oasis doesn’t condone any of DC’s actions, she has an odd fascination with them. Being “evil” doesn’t come naturally to her, and some of the things he’s able to come up with on such short notice really hit her out of left field. In a strange and messed up way, he’s a genius, and Oasis wishes she could think on her feet as well as he can.
To DC, Sandra’s nothing more than an annoying pest. He can’t remember infecting her, as he’s assimilated countless victims into his hivemind. There’s no reason for him to remember the names of each and every one of his victims, especially considering they no longer have any free will once under his control. DC is largely unaware of how Sandra ascended, and he doesn’t particularly care. That being said, if he were to ever learn her true origins, he’d throw the tantrum of the century. She’d be his biggest failure.
It’s rare for Sandra and DC to interact, but when they do it’s always messy. The two seem evenly matched in terms of willpower; meaning neither will back down when they get into a quarrel. If Oasis doesn’t break them up, they’ll continue verbally abusing each other for hours on end.
Sandra’s most hated enemy. If killing him were an option, he’d already be dead. Unfortunately, killing him would spell the end of the world, so she’s content with him rotting in the Afterlife’s jail for the rest of eternity. It’s rare for these two to come into contact with each other, but when they do all hell breaks loose.
Sandra greatly resents DC for making her the way she is. Sure, she enjoys godhood and all, but she went from being overworked in life to being overworked in death. Whenever Sandra is feeling too overworked or stressed, she’ll silently curse DC for forcing her into all of this. She could have been reincarnated as some rich royal living a lavish life. Instead, she’s stuck as the Afterlife’s unofficial secretary.
DC’s evil leaning morals have caused issues in the past, but generally speaking Meridian takes no issue with them. His reckless nature has proved to be entertaining at worst, and helpful at best. He can be annoying at times, but a lot of DC’s ideas have merit, and on more than one occasion he’s been the key to cracking the code on casting more difficult spells or creating more elaborate relics. Plus, Meridian finds sucking up to DC amusing. He’s always amazed at how drastically DC’s personality can change just by making minor changes to how he introduces himself.
