"i took off on a wave, went down the side, popped out the other end, and went, shit, i'm still alive!"
personality
Clay is the epitome of a surfer dude; friendly, outgoing, against the status quo, and always doing his own thing. And frankly, also a little bit of an airhead. Clay spends most of his days on the California beach, taking in the sun, drinking fruit smoothies, and riding the waves with his best friends. Clay is easy to get along with, proven by the fact that he kind of knows everyone around, and everyone definitely knows him. Whether for his constant entering new fling-style relationships and flirting with most everyone who will let him, his skill and talent on the waves, or the way he seems to not ever listen to his poor mother, Clay is well described with the word "popular".
public info
Clay was born to a rich Italian mother and a typical surfer guy dad. His parents were very young, and they never married, but they were in love and ready to raise a child together.
For the first 5 years of his life, they made it work. Clay lived in a happy home with his mother and father, they split the work equally, and there were no issues at home. However, on Clay's 6th birthday, his mother found out that his father had been cheating on her for much of their relationship.
Quickly, his father was out of the house. He promised to visit every single week and take him somewhere every weekend -- and for a while, this was true. However, as years went on and his dad moved on, it turned into once a month, then once a year, until one day he saw his father for the last time.
Clay, who had depended fully on both of his parents, started becoming a problem child. He refused to listen to his mother, began skipping class, and only ever wanted to be at the beach at any given time. He misbehaved in school and at home, and just would not listen to his poor mother.
Into his teenage years, Clay started dating himself. Nothing serious, just some flings for fun. Until he met one Bodhi Dayal -- and he fell in love. The two dated for a year until unforseen circumstances left them drifting apart.
Ever since then, Clay's life has been mostly the same. His mother remarried, and he dislikes his stepfather immensely, but sneaking out to the beach every single day helps him avoid both his stepfather and his nearly-adult responsibilities.
