  • Name Amadeus Weisen
  • Nationality German (Baden)
  • GenderMale
  • Age25 years old
  • Birthday 16 January
  • Occupation Small jobs

Born from a wealthy catholic family, Amadeus grew in a protected and priviledged environment, being given a too naive and too optimistic vision of the real world. This made him a pure, sweet, naive and innocent boy, the eyes full of stars and glitters, the mind full of hopes and dreams. He left home to build his own story, ignoring that the real, outside world was not the sweet perfection he always thought to be.

He started to realise what reality is like when his beloved father died from cancer. Now deep in dept following the bankruptcy of the restaurant he had opened, he lives a semi-precarity, being to shameful to ever come back home and admit to his mother that she was right about him being unable to live by his own.

He is still a sweet, affectionate, helping, amiable ad caring man. Giving great importance to morals, he acts straight, honest and reliable. However, he is still somewhat immature, often acting naive and childish. He also is really sensible, being easily hurt by people's look and words, and having no endurance against needs, fear and anxiety. He is like a fragile fledgling who was too hurry about leaving the nest even though he knows nothing about life nor how to defend himself.

I still believe in God,
but I also believe the Bible was written by humans

Personality

Summary : Amadeus is a full of spirit young boy, always smiley and affable, somehow hiding a great sensibility and a certain timidity. He kind of looks like a kid, playful and dreamy, shy and unsure but sociable and friendly, curious and awkward. He loves human contact and is open to any new encounter. He is straight, honest and reliable, giving a lot of importance to mutual respect and politeness. He also likes to be helpful.

Amadeus looks like a kid, as well according to his appearance than his behaviour. Awkward, he often puts himself into disagreeable situations, by knocking down a shelf at the supermarket or bumping into some passer-by in the street. He is not much problem-solving and cannot do many things with his own hands. If he ever tries to replace a light bulb, he will eventually break it, and changing a tap washer looks to him like a complex manipulation which needs a training program. His awkwardness relates to his social behaviour as well: he often is uncomfortable with strangers, acting like a kid within a group of adults. He does not know how to act, shows unsureness, gets muddled up and often stammers. He also blushes a lot, but he would hate to acknowledge it. Like a curious and unused to social conventions kid, he may be unintentionally irritating by asking indiscreet questions, while he was just trying to be polite. He tries to act well by showing interest but he does not know about “conventional” questions or limits. Despite this, he shows good will, showing interest for everyone without any a priori, open to everyone and always jovial, redoubling his efforts to be of a pleasant company. Even so, he lacks self-confidence and assertiveness, as he grew up in a restrictive and overly protected home, then is not used to be around strangers.

Despite this, he is a very sociable person, being jovial and easy-going. He loves to discuss with people, whoever they are, showing interest for any subject, or just chatting about the weather, in the only aim to share a talk. He acts cheerful and smiley, vigorous and always ready for any group activity. Warm, welcoming and friendly, he is free from prejudices and a priori and considers every person as someone who deserves to be known, as long as this person does not prove the opposite by themselves. Beyond this, he would always be ready to stop by to lend an ear to anyone who may need it, being in a bar, in the street or on a bench. Having a strong need of social contact, he is one of those old grand-ma’s will stop on the corner of the park to tell him everything, during hours, about their lonely rheumatisms and their busy kids who won’t call.

From a curious nature, he shows interest for everything and everyone. He loves to discover new things and, mostly, he loves to discover new people. He is happy to share their passions, their life experience, the way they see their world. He has some fascination for the great diversity, simple and modest yet so profuse, of all of the different human personalities.

Amadeus also is a gentle and affectionate person, liking human contact, and often looking for more or less valid excuses to impose hugs to his friends. He always acts kind and patient, ensuring his entourage’s well-being. He acts the same with animals, and can barely resist to some fluff-ball, feeling the need to pet and hug any cute animal. By “cute” he would mean birds and mammals, being rather afraid of reptiles, batrachians or arthropods. He is actually somewhat fearful and may be easily scared without an apparent reason, being it about a horror film or some unidentified nocturnal noise.

He is a very calm person, always of an equal mood. He seems to always be in a good mood, smiley and affable. Of course he sometimes gets angry, but his angers are neither long nor even credible. He never screams, considering it a verbal violence, what he condemns. He prefers a calm talk to make a deal that may please everyone.

Yet, he is spontaneous, acting in a natural way without thinking much about his acts or words. Poised and staid when necessary, he can act careful and judicious in front of some situations. Maybe by mistrust or fear of failure, he is able to take the time needed to analyse everything before taking any serious decision. He knows to look for any necessary information and to consider every different possibility before taking an important decision.

Careful and meticulous, Amadeus is always well-groomed, attending to a perfect hygiene and lifestyle. His apartment looks like his body: always clean and tidy, taken care of. Thanks to a fussy mother, everything is always in order in his home: his clothes are neatly folded and piled , nothing is out of place and the dishes are gleaming. However, this strict cleanliness emphasise the cold and impersonal aspect of his flat, furnished by cheap and modern furniture without much personality, almost free of embellishment and ornament, with the exception of a little collection of zebra figures and toys taking centre stage on his bedroom’s shelf.

Being as careful about his appearance as his behaviour, he is also straight and honest, giving a big importance to social etiquette and, mostly, to mutual respect. He is respectful to laws and people. He would never steal anything, even if he was really needy, and he would never try to delude or scam anyone or anything. He is trustworthy, incapable of any kind of betrayal. Despite this, he may be able to lie when he sees it as necessary, being to protect himself or to avoid offending someone.

He is really principled and has a firm opinion about moral questions. He was raised with a strict catholic education and, even though he tends to draw away from religion, biblical dogmas still have a strong influence on his behaviour and thoughts. Even if he is not practicing anymore, his beliefs slowly digressing from the classical Catholicism and the Bible, he keeps believing in God and would always respect what he considers to be divine rules, and expects you to do so. However, he is still rather open-minded, reckoning God gave liberty to humans and easily accepts many things that usually are repressed by the Church.

His temperament matching his childish appearance, Amadeus is playful as well and can sometimes show some immaturity. He loves to play, whatever the offered game is. Alone or with friends, he likes video games, board games, or even a simple hangman or riddle. He is not exigent and is easily entertained. He laugh often, he needs to enjoy himself, to clear his mind by focusing on some fun activity to forget about serious things that may be invading his head. He also loves to party, to be around crowds of people, freely speaking to strangers, following games initiated by the mass. Maybe is it because of partying too much or to better clean his mind, he often drinks alcohol, ended up falling in a kind of alcoholism. He can hardly control himself around alcohol and will drink too much, leading to awkward situations as he cannot hold his drink and often is the first one at a party to fall asleep on the tiling, which may leave to some misfortune.

Amadeus is of a docile nature and may appear innocently naïve. Being trustful, he easily believes to some credible spiel and may be easily manipulated. Having grown in a protected environment, he is not habituated yet to the cruelty of the external world and is still really optimistic about human’s nature. This is why he easily trusts strangers and may naively follow anyone, being convinced humans are good by nature. It is then rather easy to take advantage of him. He acts obliging and helpful and people sometimes abuse of him generosity. He does notice but keeps helping, always willing to do well.

Emotive and sensitive, he has a strong empathy. He is easily moved by people’s feelings and this is why he always acts helpful, willing to bring positive emotions to others. He is easily hurt by rude behaviours or malevolent words, and then he would never allow himself to act the same, following the golden rule “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. Thus, he would never deliberately hurt anyone, unless some special case.

Despite everything, he should not be considered an idiot. His naivety has limits and he would not let someone abuse of him if there is no positive return to him. He will notice if took for a dummy and is able of revenge. His reciprocity ethic stops where his pride starts, and he may turn his motto into “an eye for an eye”. Despite the childish look he gives to himself, he is mature and cautious, able to analyse any situation and draw the required conclusion.

Therefore, Amadeus is a childish but sweet and careful young boy, open-handed and big-hearted. He always looks joyful and enthusiast, being sociable and open to everyone. He shows himself smiley and optimist, focused on the positive sides of everything, belittling their negative sides. Despite that, this is mostly appearances, a temperament that he wants to convince others, and mostly that he wants to convince himself. But behind his too joyful smile, Amadeus is a boy who lacks self-confidence and assertiveness, who is afraid of this world and does not have much hope for the future. He would not admit it, but he is negative and pessimist inside, while trying to assert the opposite. He hides behind an artificial joy his fragile feelings and some distress due to constant fails. His altruism may betray a deep lack of affection and the need to be appreciated by others, in the aim to sense in others’ eye the reflection of a value and an importance he struggle to grant to himself. He clings to his own smile not to abandon, because he knows he is incompetent and unfit. Despite this, always solicitous not to importunate his entourage, he keeps for himself his sorrow and fears and tries to always show the better of himself, an imperturbable smile accompanying his efforts in order to not inflict to others the qualms of an instable boy. By dint of optimism and forced joy, maybe he will someday convince himself, or convince destiny. He prefers to pretend he is happy and blooming, rather than admitting the important part of his life all are failures.

As sociable as he is, Amadeus is still a lonely boy, having difficulties to build strong connections, surrounding himself with pals without having true friends. Having a strong need of concrete contact, he suffers from this situation he yet renounced to resolve. His lack of self-confidence and previous failures pushed him to withdraw and become more distant. He is open to everyone but would not open himself at a personal level. He would discuss about every kind of topic, except what personally touches him. He feels like he is kind of “under construction” and tries to build himself and his own life before trying to build stable relationships. Thus, while he mixes easily, his relationships usually are superficial and rarely deepen.

Having endured several defeats and personal wounds already, he gained some maturity. He likes to give himself the air of a naïve and innocent child, but he is actually mature. He knows to act as an adult when needed and is capable of handling responsibilities. He knows when it is required to act serious and his able to furnish hard work when needed. He his hard-working and devoted to his task, refusing any kind of laziness, being from himself or from others. He considers any works deserves a salary, but also any salary deserves work. He knows everything has to be earned and cannot stand people who would complain without acting when they can actually reach a solution.

He tries to avoid conflicts, judging them as uselessly aggressive, and would rather try to manage any disagreement with calm and diplomacy without yielding to anger, by looking for a solution that may suit each and every. He considers violence and aggressiveness resolves nothing and thinks Humans are evolved enough to be able to settle any problem with calm and maturity. He hates every form of violence and disrespect, being physical or verbal, and advocates communication and the sharing of ideas and feels.

Appearance

ama_by_seiden_kaczka-dcj9y7t.jpg

Although he is 25 years old, Amadeus still looks like a teenager. Small and petite, he has an infantile body, without muscles or fat, still shapeless and neutral. This body is topped by an equally childish head: a pair of chubby cheeks surrounds a pair of fresh and always smiley lips, topped by a small and impish nose. All overhand by two large eyes, softly lined by white eyelashes forming like a lacy curtain shading his cyan blue iris. This charming picture is framed by pure white hairs, abundant and softly curved. Not really smooth without being curly, his hairs show a slight wave, like if they were still unsure of their texture. Thick in amount but thin in shape, his hairs have a subtle downy aspect, making Amadeus look like a discoloured chick.

His skin is thin and pale, sometimes giving him an unhealthy look despite his constant good mood. His albinism gives him some fragility toward sunlight, and he may show red patches, his body being easily marked by sun bites.
Outfits-wise, Amadeus mostly likes white and blue colours. He usually wears a plain blue jeans and a t-shirt, long-sleeved or short-sleeved depending of the season. Maybe diverted from his unexplained passion for zebras, he often wears striped t-shirts, usually horizontal stripes. Most often, it is pale or pastel blue stripes on white. His shoes usually are converses, sneakers or lace-up shoes, and they often are white or blue as well.

Story

Summary : everything was perfect until daddy dies

Amadeus is born from a German mother and a french father in Baden-Baden, a renown city situated in the Schwarzwald of Germany, encompassed by the French and Swiss borders.
Amadeus grew in a conventional and wealthy upper-class family, raised by a loving but temperamental emergency doctor mother, and a gentle but rigorous bank manager father. He was a loved and spoiled kid, and the birth of Elisabeth, or Bethie, his younger sister, would only increase the warmth of a solid home.
The parent couple were devoted to bringing their kids the best childhood, spoiling them with various toys, countless outings and activities, but also a strict education : the family was of conservative Christians, and the children had to be raised under God's words and laws, to teach them to reach for virtues and to avoid sins. They would learn to pray before meals and bed, to help the poor (though giving a few Marks to some random homeless person was enough for their conscience to be satisfied), to never lie nor steal, and how having sex outside of an heterosexual mariage is a sin.
As a rich kid living in an upper-class neighbourhood, Amadeus grew preserved from the reality of an harsh world, as he never faced any lack of foods or means, any violence, any serious pain or fear. This sweetened environment made him a naive and overly optimistic child, growing pure, innocent and sweet, his starry eyes gazing at a perfect world filled of easy to achieve dreams. When he decided to drop university, to leave his home to get his own and to open his own restaurant, he could not imagine anything ever going wrong.

He had to come back home two months later, having been told that his father was sick. The smilling man actually have been hiding his disease from his kids for a few years already, trying to preserve them, but he could not hide it any longer as he was now close to death. They paid for the best medical services, but fate cannot be avoided : the loving father closed his eyes in front of the despaired look of a now-widowed mother realizing that neither her medicine knowledge, nor her passionate prays could save her beloved husband. The childs would not understand neither.

This day, Amadeus would start to question everything he thought he knew about the world he used to live in. He always have been a fervent believer in God, never missing church nor a prayer, acting caring, gentle and helpful and avoiding sins at all costs. And so was his father, he was sure of it. Thus, why would a said loving and caring God kill his devoted and motivated subject? Why would a benevolent deity inflict them such a punishment without them having caused any fault? The young boy still wanted to believe in his protector, and tried to persuade himself that He had His reasons to do so.

After a mourning period, Amadeus went back to his restaurant, that he had opened in a large city in France, right next to the German border. He worked hard, barely allowing himself any rest, to make everything perfect and to attract clients. He went bankrupt in even less than a year, but kept fighting to make his dream become true, until falling deeply in debts. Not wanting his family to worry about him, nor even to admit that they were true when telling him not to try such a foolish adventure, he never dared to tell them that he was now living in precarity, in a small and almost empty flat in an ill-famed neighbourhood, barely having enough to buy food or pay for electricity. Having no diploma, he would live on piling up badly paid small jobs. From the stressful period when he had to redress the balance, he kept an alcohol addiction.

Relief materialised under the traits of a tall man, who once offered a drink to the gloody-looking boy. His name was Elliot, he just arrived from England to seek from his long-lost brother, and his flamboyant red hairs looked like some marvelous flame in the eyes of the albino boy (who actually has a thing with hairs). They spent the evening together, and would eventually meet up again. With the help of some whisky bottles, Amadeus would easily fall in the arms and heath of the reassuring, mature and confident traveller. They would share sweet and tender days, Elliot helping him as much as he could. Their love was not to be consummating though, as Amadeus still had in mind the divine laws his mother had taught him about sex and sins. However, he had to face the fact that even the small fact of kissing a man would make him a sinner, and promise him an eternity in hell. Without ever truly accepting his own homosexuality, he would have to deal with the idea that his beloved protector would inflict him the eternal punishment only for having found serenity and happiness at another man's sides. From this idea, he would question his own beliefs for good, and having an atheist boyfriend would not help. He would sit and think for hours, trying to figure how such a benevolent, loving and forgiving God could not only heartlessly kill his most devoted subjects, but also promise eternal pain for not following some picky rules that would not even make sense. Reading the bible again to try to find the replies he was looking for, he figured that not only being in love with another man was a sin, but also ridiculous things such as using a bathroom or wearing mixed-fabrics clothes. Realising that, according to the Bible, he was condamned to hell anyway, he ended up deciding to stop caring at all. He would still follow the moral his parents taught him, acting caring, polite, considerate and helpful, avoiding any act that could hurt others such as lies, manipulation, violence or theft, but he would not care about religion anymore, realising that the rulebook does not even make sense anyway. He cannot exactly settle wether he still believes in God or not, but he decided to live his own life with his own rules and morals.

Elliot left him. Not that anything bad happened, the English man just happened to fall in love with another man with whom he flied back to England, leaving Amadeus alone with barely any means of living, and barely any friend if it wasn't for Elliot's brother that he somewhat clicked with despite the two brothers hating on each other.
Amadeus returned to a dull and precarious life, but would only lose his vibrant smile when he is all alone, in his empty flat. When in public, he would keep acting as the careless child he was supposed to be, smiley and playful, pretending to be optimistic on a said to be shining future.

Arthur

Amadeus once felt in love with a man, Elliot. While he was slowly accepting his orientation and trying to persuade himself that there is no sin in love, he met Arthur, Elliot's younger brother. Arthur advised him to stay away from Elliot, arguing that he is a cruel and dangerous man. Amadeus would not believe him, but the blond was still here whenever Amadeus would need some help or comfort. Now that Elliot broke up with him, Amadeus feel relatively uncomfortable with Arthur, but they still hold a good relationship.

EDEN

Through their friendship, Amadeus met Eden, the boyfriend of Arthur. They quickly became good friends, Amadeus being more at ease with the young cat-boy than he his with his ex's brother. They often hang out together, sharing some sweet and comforting moments.

Bethie

Elisabeth is Amadeus' young sister. While he likes to claim that his sister is a little monster that should be considered public enemy number one, he actually loves her a lot. They grew up with a good brother-sister relationship : arguing a lot, teasing each other, crying to their parents about how their sibling was mean to them,  but then cuddling and laughing together.
