"Your life is no longer in your hands."

~~~
In the heart of the bustling city, amidst the throng of unsuspecting pedestrians and towering skyscrapers, He moved with purposeful strides. His figure blended seamlessly into the urban landscape, a shadow among the masses, his gaze fixed on his next target. The city streets buzzed with life, but to him, it was all just background noise, drowned out by the singular focus of his mission. He weaved through the crowds with silent determination, his mind unbending, his thoughts consumed by the task at hand.
As he closed in on his target, a prominent figure with ties to corruption and deceit, The Finisher felt a familiar surge of adrenaline coursing through his veins. The man pleaded for mercy, but Agent Maroon remained stoic, his expression betraying nothing as he raised his weapon.
With a quick, decisive motion, he silenced his target, the sound of gunfire swallowed by the cacophony of the city. Another job completed, another step closer to fulfilling his purpose. Money, likely. To pay for the roof over his head and to refill the bullets in his gun.
He was used to not resting between missions.
In a matter of minutes, he'll find himself by Grandfather's side.
About
Personality
abbb1af96bf8571af563cf8efcbfc96b.pngOne of quiet intensity, with a presence that commands respect and instills fear in those around him. He operates with a cold and calculating efficiency, his actions guided by a singular focus on his mission.
His mind is unbending, if not already broken, shaped by years of unwavering dedication to his craft. There's no emotion on his face or his body. He is highly skilled and precise in his methods, never failing a job and always completing his tasks with ruthless efficiency.
Maroon cares little for human lives, viewing them as mere obstacles to be overcome in pursuit of his objectives. He is more than willing to resort to violence if it means achieving success, showing little remorse for his actions and remaining indifferent to the suffering he may cause.
Despite his outwardly emotionless façade, there is a flicker of introspection within Agent Maroon. He questions the morality of his actions, pondering the significance of his work and whether it truly makes a difference in the world. However, these thoughts are quickly dismissed as he reaffirms his commitment to his mission.
[Most of Agent Maroon's history had been missing for a prolonged time. All of Grandfather's personal attempts and resources had provided nothing.]
...He stood amidst the chaos of the streets, a nagging doubt crept into his mind. He had just killed another man.
Did his actions truly make a difference? Were they justified, or were they merely a means to an end, a cycle of violence perpetuating itself endlessly? These questions lingered in the corners of his mind, threatening to unravel the carefully constructed façade of indifference he had built around himself.
Yet, even as doubt gnawed at him, The Finisher pushed it aside, a silent acknowledgment of the futility of such thoughts. He was a tool of the Prodigal, a weapon to be wielded without question or hesitation. Until one encounter changed everything.
Facing his final target, the elusive figure known only as Grandfather, the cold-blooded killer felt a shift within himself. For the first time, he hesitated, his unwavering resolve faltering in the presence of the enigmatic leader of the Prodigal.
But Grandfather was persuasive, offering him a choice:
Join him or meet his demise.
Survival instincts kicked in, overriding any lingering doubts or moral quandaries. In that moment, he made his decision, choosing to ally himself with the very organization he now serves without question.
Standing by Grandfather's side, Agent Maroon's purpose shifted, his actions guided by a newfound understanding of his place in the world. No longer a mindless instrument of death, he saw himself as a force for balance in an unbalanced world, his lethal skills wielded with intent, his actions guided by a sense of purpose born from the ashes of doubt and uncertainty. When once quiet accepted fate, Grandfather encourages him to ask questions.
And so, with Grandfather's guidance, Agent Maroon embraced his role as a harbinger of change, no longer bound by the constraints of his former self. In that moment of choice, he found the answers he had been seeking, a sense of purpose that transcended the violence of his past and offered a glimmer of hope for the future.
Trivia
  • Though without a name, he was allowed to keep his former alias, The Finisher. His new title given by Grandfather is Second Agent Maroon.
    > Maroon is not his favorite color, but he won't complain about it.
  • Originally a hired killer. Has never failed a job, except for when he was tasked to killed Grandfather.
    > Fortunately, Grandfather decides to invite him into the Prodigal as one of their agents.
  • Keeping his name, "The Finisher," he often is tasked to providing the final blow, when one of the other agents refuses to kill.
    > Gets a little competitive with Agent Redd. Both of them make sure to count their kills by the end of their onslaught.
  • Somehow most of the blood splatter almost never lands on his oddly clean white coat.
    > When it does leave a stain, he gets upset.
  • Has a sweet tooth. Likes strawberry-flavored things.
    > Strawberry ice cream is his personal favorite.
  • Hates nuts.
    > Especially peanuts.
  • His pistol is always going to be within reach. However, he feels uncomfortable going around without bringing his AR-15, which remains in his case most of the time.
    > All of his guns have silencers and suppressors. Despite how often he uses a gun, he's not a fan of how loud it is.
  • A chain smoker.
    > Smokes at least 2 packs a day.
    > Originally has smoked 5 packs a day, but Grandfather has limited him greatly.
Relationships
Grandfather  [ Boss ]
Before joining the Prodigal as one of their Agents, Grandfather was his last target. However, before even pulling the trigger, the Finisher was already apprehended by both Grandfather and Agent Redd. If it wasn't for Grandfather's invitation, surely he would have been dead and his doubts would have been unresolved. Agent Maroon has been a silent man even in his childhood, but perhaps Grandfather's cryptic (yet persuasive) nature has allowed the Agent to open up.
[First Agent] Redd  [ Coworker, Friend? ]
Redd always gives Maroon the silent, annoyed look. He can't understand why. Though, it was because of him that Agent Maroon was able to appreciate the thrill of killing. He may not show it, nor that he will ever, but he's appreciative that Redd exists to compel him to compete against him for a chance to kill.
He's worked with the First Agent for years, and is aware that he always has the desire to go back to seeing his beloved kids. Overtime, in reflection, he also begins to question the purpose of having someone to come home to, or have someone he can admire. Under Grandfather's council, he suggests that he starts viewing Redd as a friend...
[Third Agent] Scarlet[ Coworker ]
He doesn't need additional manpower to get the job done, but Agent Scarlet is useful in other ways. Whether it's to hitch a ride or acquire a new upgrade for his gun, he's proven conveniently resourceful in his line of work. Yet compared to Redd, he doesn't see himself getting along with the Third Agent well enough. Perhaps if he opens himself up a little more, as suggested by Grandfather, then perhaps he could make friends with him too.
