A female African Wild Dog / Painted Dog. She’s sweet and extremely social to her packmates. Xena is her very best friend, despite that she’s a lioness, a rival to her pack.
Her parents were the alphas, one day they left the pack in search of new territories, leaving Tamala to lead the pack. But while they’re gone, the hyena clan attacked and a lot of her packmates become the victim of the attack, fortunately no one dies, but some were badly injured, including Tamala herself. When her parents are back and noticed that, they got extremely angry and blame Tamala for everything.
Tamala feels bad for herself, thinking that she’s useless. But her best friend, Xena always come to comfort and encourage her to get up again. No one could separate the two, they’ll always be by each other’s side.
In the end, Xena helps Tamala as she talks to her parents, explaining everything. Tamala’s parents soon believes her, as the lioness and the painted dog’s friendship grows.
