Due to its location within an active volcano, it stays consistently warm as well as dry.
Design notes
Aldebrand used his powers to hollow out the area in which Asteria’s Hearth rests. While it started out as simply a hideout for Levina and him, it has grown into the compound that it is over the years.
Levina’s underground clinic expanded the knowledge of the compound and the power’s Aldebrand seems to have with delaying the effects of moldening and other sickness of Sweeticals.
Everyone but a select few have no idea that Aldebrand is in fact not a vessel of Asteria.
It is broken into three main sections: Levina’s clinic, Aldebrand’s mansion, which is off limits to most people, and the rest of the compound.
The place features molten chocolate falling from the ceilings and statues of the goddess Asteria.
Backstory
Built, or rather carved out by Aldebrand’s magic after he and Levina escaped their captors, Asteria’s Hearth was once a simple hideout for the two of them.
Since Aldebrand developed a chronic case of Sucrenemia, Levina was left in charge of organizing a way for them to get supplies they needed, so she opened a small ‘no questions asked’ clinic. It was wildly popular with the underbelly of Sweetical culture.
The settlement quickly grew and after Aldebrand gruesomely dealt with two groups that tried to claim Levina’s clinic as solely theirs, it became a neutral zone where everyone acted on their best behavior. After news got out, Aldebrand was soon met with the Furnadjiev siblings which started the cult of Asteria’s Flame.
The two Fallen jumped on this idea and thus Asteria’s Hearth was established.
Notable Residents
Asteria’s Vessel. One day she’ll use his body to rise from the core of the planet where sweeticals with inclinations to fire will rule.
She’s Aldebrand’s personal doctor; but she also runs an underground hospital here. While she’ll mess with her patients, she won’t ask any questions that aren’t necessary.
Aldebrand’s first followers; they are drinking the Kool-Aid HARD. In fact, they came to HIM with the knowledge of him being Asteria’s Blessed. He has tried to tell them, to no avail.
A devout follower of Aldebrand. Due to her condition of moldening pausing while near Aldebrand, she willingly follows his orders and assists her younger brothers as needed, as well as taking care of Aprina.
Aldebrand’s daughter. She isn’t sure what is actually going on here as it’s all normal to her, she knows nothing else and isn’t allowed to leave the compound.
He doesn’t believe in the gospel he spreads. He desipes Levina and usually attempts to assassinate her whenever he’s in the compound; however, it always fails one way or another.
