Agate Raphael

ORIGN

Raphael had a normal upbringing, his parents always new he was clever and more powerful then would probably do him any good.
They were stressed, faintly heartbroken but supportive when he came to them and told them he was to travel the universe as a bounty hunter. Bid him farewell and gifted him many items to remember them by, knowing that it was probably never going to get to see them again. They just hope he's going to remain happy.

And he is, Agate loves the job. He soon becomes known at being a good seeker, clearly something to do with the power that he's not willing to share about. It's considered trustworthy as a worker, but not someone that you should think is a close friend. He will happily accept personal information from others, even if he isn't planning on giving any in return.
He becomes a finder, someone people go to, to return family and lost friends rather then do anything more drastic.

LUNA

It is this skills that causes Luna's adoptive family to reach out to him, trusting the Hedgehog to keep the exact details secret.
He would be lying if he didn't admit he was shocked to find out about this second 'last' Echidna, but understands how and why her clan gave her away to be raised by others, to keep her secret and safe. He didn't share how he couldn't blame her from running away to her parents however. It agrees to help, but holds no promises, he may be very good at his job, but it also does not force those who left of their own free will to return if they do not.

It doesn't take him too long to track her to Earth, though it grows curious. It's heard of the other three mobians at this point that exist on the planet, so those life signs leave it with no curiosity and no need to try and visit them. No, what piques his interest over the Mobian he has been paid to try and locate is a strange life sign, not quite a full Mobian, but there's Mobian there.
So, he shakes off his mission and follows the strange signal. Not quite expecting to find himself leaning over a strange little partially robotic Mobian hybrid. Guilt builds up as he makes it panic, trying to calm it down, especially as a human appears with a gun. It's odd though, instead of fleeing he feels a pull to stay and try to talk his way out of this.

NOW

Raphael's not sure how he ended up sitting on the sofa, petting the spines of the smaller Mobian as he sits on the floor in front of him; with that human sat beside him trying to work things out. It's curious to see how he deflates when Raphael explains his different way of travelling the worlds and that it reliably only works for one unless if he has a cornerstone to return another too.
It tries to ignore the soft rumble in his chest in response to the child chirping softly, something neither have control of as they relax. Well relax as much as possible before another human comes storming in, and set soff all of Raphael's alarm bells and they have to start from the begining again about who he is and that he means no harm.

He doesn't leave. It keeps meaning to, keeps expecting that it will wake up the next day and just leave, but it doesn't.
Maybe it's his curiosity over the child, a scientific creation who has some pretty impressive powers. As well as the fact the child clearly so craves an older Mobian figure and he's willing to provide that.
Or maybe it's the form of fondess it feels towards the two human adults, they're both odd but their openness over their views and who they actually are is a breath of fresh air.
He might leave one day. Surely after years of travel he will not remain content remaining in one planet let alone one location.
