About
Dave is a strict figure in the family, being forced to grow up fast to take the place of Clarimond, while also being plagued by many worries. He tries to suppress them as much as he can, for the greater good of the family, as well as the fact that he has no one to comfortably talk to about them. He also is constantly hindered by the fact that he is considered "wrong" by the world. While it bothers him quite a bit, it makes him determined to show the world that he is not what they label him as.
He's always prepared for a battle, almost always being equipped with his arm-like prosthetic blade, made by himself, and constantly training in combat.
He only has one eye, created with only one, his left, and created with only a bit less than half of his left arm. He has a good handful of scars in his stub-arm area, most from when he was trying to make a prosthetic for himself. His bandana, previously red with a diamond pattern, was first meant as a disguise to cover his missing eye. His current bandana is a part of Clarimond's dress that he got when she passed. He always wears it when he can.
Species - Stickman
Stickmen are NOT human, the fact that they have no noses or ears or toes is not a part of my art style. It's kind of like an original species, though I know a "stickman" isn't an original concept.
Race - Jenian
Dave is a Jenian stickman, the most common race, but an uncommon variant. As a defect, he was meant to be killed when he was first created, classified as such due to his missing forearm and eye.
Backstory
Dave Caisel, only known as Devante to himself, is the first child that Clarimond adopted and raised as her own since creation. Since then, his family has grown into a unique little bunch, whom he takes care of since his mother's passing. He took on the parental role partially out of obligation, and partially out of Clarimond's request. He cares so incredibly much about his family and it's safety, constantly worried about attack from outside forces. He always yearns to get to the surface, to the whole outside world with his family, but he's forced to stay on the cliffside due to his race. He and most of his family aren't meant to be alive in the first place.
Sometimes he dreams of a life where he was never a defect, in which he would love to be a swordsmith. He constantly wishes for a new and better life, to be free, on the surface world, for him and his family.
Rick is Dave's non-maternal brother. Though they aren't related, Dave has known Rick since the day he was born and brought home. Ever since he first saw his little brother, he was in love, and declared that he would always protect and take care of him. He still cares immensely about his brother, even when Rick grew up, always wanting to start fights, and now ignoring Dave and always pushing him away. Dave tries all he can to take care of his brother, since he won't do it himself, and try to get him out of his slump.
Compman was just a small child when he joined Dave's family, Dave being around teen years. Though, once Compman was brought back after Clarimond's death, Dave had to grow up quick, mainly to take care of Compman in place of Clarimond. Since then, Compman has become more like Dave's own child than a sibling, who he's grown incredibly attached to and cares about. He is extremely protective over Compman, and if anyone hurt him, the attacker would be incredibly sorry, as well as Dave himself being heartbroken and distraught.
