Catie The Cat's Links
Catie, Shelby, and Abbie were all best friends when they were kids, and though a lot of things have changed over the years, Catie's friendship with Shelby is one of the things that have thankfully remained the same. Shelby may be different then when she was younger, but she's still a great friend and Catie hopes that Shelby learns how to let go and have fun every once in awhile.
Normally bright, happy go lucky people like Catie annoy Shelby to no end, but they've been friends for so long Catie could probably punch her in the face (of course Catie would never do such a thing.....she hopes) and Shelby still probably couldnt bring herself to hate her. Catie's silly, cheerful personality never fails to bring a smile to Shelby's face when she's down and Shelby appreciates it so much. Catie's a loyal and great friend and God help anyone who messes with her cause they'll have to answer to Shelby if they even dare try to hurt her. Hell she wishes she could fly to Japan and beat the shit out of the kids who bullied her at her old school.
Catie really misses Abbie. After her family moved to Japan they didn't get to talk as much as they wanted to, even now with them living in the same place again, they still don't talk all that much. It saddens Catie and she worries that maybe Abbie doesn't like her anymore, even though Shelby tries to assure her otherwise.
Abbie feels awful for not talking to Catie as much as she used to, but every time they do get the chance to talk Abbie always enjoys it. She hopes that they can be as close as they once were when they were younger.
Sarah is a wonderful older sister. Catie wouldn't have such a strong love for the outdoors if it hadn't been for Sarah always taking her with her on walks and hikes with her and her friends. She's the first person to notice whenever Catie's upset and always finds a way to make Catie feel better. Sarah is not just her sister, she's her best friend.
Sarah loves her younger sister and spoils her at ever given opportunity. Catie is such a ball of sunshine and energy, she reminds Sarah so much of herself it's crazy. She's glad she can share her love of adventure and the outdoors with her. She knows how lonely and sad Catie felt when their family moved to Japan, so Sarah did her best to always be there for her and make sure she knew that she was loved. She's glad now that Catie has been reunited with her friends that she's so much happier.
They say opposites attract and that's certainly true for Catie. Ben is lazy, always grumpy, doesn't have a care in the world for his appearance, and would much rather lay on the couch, playing video games then be outside. Despite this he was the only person Catie clicked with back at her old school in Japan. He was the only one who didn't bully her or look at her like she didn't belong. He always went out of his way to do nice things for Catie even though he always complained about it when he did so, but it meant so much to Catie, more then he'd probably ever realize. Catie loves being outdoors and all but it's nice having someone to lay back and hang out with every once in awhile. Still it wouldn't kill him to smile every once in awhile.
Catie is so different from Ben. She's so damn cheerful and active, he doesn't understand how she does it. Even when they were back in Japan when she was being bullied by the other students in their class, she always had a smile on her face and not once did she ever retaliate. That was something that Ben admired about her but at the same time drove him up a wall. Ben was a loner himself, by choice so the fact that Catie tried so hard to be friendly to the awful people they were surrounded by made him go out of his way to show her at least some kindness, cause no one else was going too. He's grown to really like Catie and that scares him. He's never had any friends (again by choice) so he's not sure how to handle the feelings he has for her. Does he tell her? What if she rejects him? That would crush him more than anything. Damn it! This is exactly why he doesn't get involved with others!....Still even if she did reject him, he would never regret befriending her. She.....she was the best thing in his life.
Catie doesn't really think much of her cousin. She doesn't dislike her or anything like that, she just doesn't' know her real well, even when she lived in Japan and were in the same school, they didn't talk all that much. She would love to get to know her, but she's so shy and reclusive, Catie doesn't want to bother her or force her to do talk to her just cause they're related.
