Shelby Yuki The Bat

Shelby was born on a rainy night to a very loving and supportive family. Her parents spoiled her and her older sister Amber (who was named after their mother‘s sister that died before they were both born). Though Amber was five years older than Shelby, Amber would always play dolls with Shelby when she was lonely or upset. Besides being bullied in school Shelby had a happy and normal childhood. 

One night when Shelby was seven her dad was working late, Amber and her were helping their mother set up the table for dinner. When hearing a noise outside Shelby thinking it's her father coming home from work runs outside to greet him but Shelby's mother runs after her and scolds her for running outside when she's not suppose to. When they walk back to the house Shelby's mother suddenly stops and tells Shelby to stay outside. Curious to what’s going on Shelby runs to the kitchen window and sees her sister Amber having her neck bitten by a vampire black fox. Scared Shelby runs but is caught by the vampire but her mother comes and stops him from killing her but in return has her neck nearly ripped out. Shelby's father comes home and chases off the vampire and runs over to Shelby's mother who begs him to leave her and take Amber to a hospital. Shelby runs over to her mother who hugs her and tells her that she loves Shelby and is always with her as she takes one last gasp of breath. Amber is taken to a hospital but also dies over night. 

Three years later when Shelby is ten her father passes away from cancer and lives with her best friend Abbie and her widowed mother Nancy. After her father dies Shelby becomes depressed and starts cutting herself and tries to commit suicide by jumping off a cliff. Somehow instead of dying she breaks ten bones and breaks her bat wings beyond repair leading them to be surgery removed. At fourteen Shelby is sent to live in Station Square with her mother’s old friend Wyatt Hanson (who is the principle of Station Square High School) after Nancy notices that a black fox has been hanging around their house, scared that this may have been the same fox that killed her best friend Nancy calls Wyatt and asks if he would take care of her which of course he agrees to. Shelby lives alone by request. At Sixteen Shelby’s two best friends Abbie and Rock go live in Station Square after multiple letters exchanged with Shelby about how miserable she is. And to keep an eye on her because they are suspicious that she is lying to them about how she no longer cuts herself.

 Shelby also comes to learn that she is what is called a light demon a creature that is said to only be born when hell plans to destroy the world. At first Shelby is in disbelief but after getting into a fight with her aunt that she didn’t even know was alive and reveled that she was the one who hired the vampire fox to kill her family, Shelby gets angry and throws a light blue fire ball at her, confirming that she is indeed a light demon. After getting over the shock and her stubbornness she trains with her friend who just happens to be the devil’s son Dom (my friend’s character) she along with her friends stop a war between demons, vampires, and werewolves that could have been disastrous. 

Now that she is eighteen Shelby is more positive and has learned that life isn’t something she should take for granted. Though she still has problems with her depression her friends get her through her dark moments and remind her why she is still alive. 

Other info: About Light Demons (This information is no longer accurate and will be updated when I get the new info all sorted out) Not much is known about Light Demons other then they are extremely rare. The story is that they are born when Hell tries to destroy the world through paranormal means. However Shelby and her friends suspect this isn’t true because Shelby’s mother had been a light demon also and as far as Shelby knew she never had to stop some paranormal disaster. The true story behind light demons is unknown but Shelby and her friends are slowly trying to uncover the origin of the light demons. Though ‘demon’ is in the title the only similarity between the two is the ability to create fire from out of no where.

• My main main character and favorite character of all time.
• Started as a grey Amy recolor with dark blue eyes.
• Was originally gonna have light blue eyes instead of brown.
• Is wingless cause at the time of her creation I couldn't draw bat wings and it's stuck ever sense.
• Her original design was a lot more girly and she even wore makeup.
