mercy was born to parents that hunted demons. Her mother died when she was young and her father raised mercy to fight demons from a young age following an injury to her eye during a hunt, mercy was able to see spells, demons, ghosts, and occasionally glimpses of the future. She used those skills to help people with hauntings and possessions and helped ghosts and other spirits move on. Following a job gone horribly wrong, mercy gets herself killed. she was resurrected and the creature that brought her back (who mercy nicknamed h.p.) wanted to make a deal. The deal was to allow it to follow her around to be able to see the world. This led to the exorcist and the eldritch horror taking road trip across the country dealing with spirits and demons.
