jinx is a 5'3" tall woman with a somewhat stocky build, with a smaller chest. her skin is pale, and her hair is black and slightly wavy. she keeps it cut short, with blunt bangs. she has a black, spade tipped tail, and pale blue horns. her skeletal black wings are nonfunctional in the human world, and hover an inch or two away from her shoulder blades.

         jinx wears glasses for fashion, not out of necessity. she has a variety of frames she swaps between, but her favorite are simple blue square ones. she likes frilly dresses and corsets, in black/dark blue color palettes. she doesn't usually bother with makeup, but will occasionally wear eyeliner and dark lipstick. she rarely smiles.

         jinx comes off as quiet, almost cold. she isn't good at small talk, and isn't very friendly beyond the cultivated customer service persona she puts on for work. it's not that she doesn't like people, she just doesn't know how to interact with people, and she's too afraid of embarrassing herself to try. she often spaces out, getting easily lost in her own daydreams about her plans for the future. one could say that she rarely is present in the moment, and is always thinking one or two steps ahead of the current situation.

        she is very calculating, almost to an unhealthy degree, and rigorously schedules out her days. she spends a long time thinking about decisions, and even her casual words or actions, before going through with them. she is fairly worried about what other people think of her, while at the same time worried about what she has left to do that day or week. she's not at all good with surprises, and highly prefers repetitive routines.

        she can appear highly motivated, although in reality her waking up early every day or working on homework at the same time each day is more so because the consistency gives her comfort. she considers her own feelings and emotions to be too weak to motivate her to do anything, and instead turns to a rigid schedule to provide structure to her life.

        on the contrary, she is not at all submissive. she can appear that way to outsiders, especially when going through the motions at her waitress job, but she's stubborn when she feels that others are trying to trample over her. she's good at being firm, but not aggressive, when it comes to making a stand for herself. she does get fired up when defending those close to her, more so than when defending herself.

        she does have an affectionate side, although it takes a long time for anyone to uncover that. the exception being children, especially those in bad situations. she has a caretaker instinct, and is nurturing towards those not as well off as her. however, her altruism stops short of actions, in most circumstances. she is a greed devil at heart, even if years of living among humans has softened her edges.

        jinx is controlled with her emotions; being skilled at sealing away unpleasant feelings until she is alone and can express them without judgement. she keeps a poker face in stressful situations, even if underneath the surface she feels tumultuous. the trade-off for this is that she can come off as emotionless when trying to comfort others, when really she's just trying to keep herself from showing sadness as well. jinx considers herself a realist over an optimist, since she feels that forcing herself to be optimistic makes her feel worse than considering the actual results of a situation.

        jinx prefers not to talk about her past in the devil world, orienting herself towards the future instead.

        what she has let slip is that she was a runaway from a young age, for an unknown reason. she bounced around cities in the devil world, relying on stealing and the pity of others to survive. eventually, she decided to cross over to the human world, where she could further disappear among the crowds.

        she lived in orphanages for a long time, saving up money through petty theft and her sin power. eventually she stumbled upon monstrucatus, and lived in the dorms there for a while under the condition that she would be a research subject. jinx lived fairly unbothered, being that devils were among the least interesting specimens the scientists at monstrucatus had to study. she finished up her grade school education, and got a job as a waitress. after saving up enough money from that, she got a place of her own off the school's campus, quietly breaking her connection to monstrucatus.

        a new pair of devils moved to the area near monstrucatus, and jinx saw cassidy at the diner, first only occasionally, and then more and more frequently. cassidy eventually got a job herself at the diner, and asked jinx out on a date. the two began dating steadily, and they are still very much in love.

        not too long after that, cyrus showed up on the doorstep of the diner, frightened and lonely. jinx gave him a hot meal, and coaxed some semblance of a story out of the boy. she could tell that something supernatural was going on with him, and somehow he had stumbled into the one area that could deal with the supernatural. she took the boy in, seeing a lot of her childhood self in him, and feeling the need to protect him.

        at present she's still taking online college classes (studying law), and researching a way to rid cyrus of his demon possession.
