- he's mute. he used to be selectively mute / just quiet but now he's just mute. most of his friends know sign in order to interpret conversations for the people he's signing to better. after all, most animals from magnolia earlier on when they were still in the process evolving had to use ( a similar but different type of ) sign language, as speaking wasn't a thing they knew how to do yet and in some cases their brain hadn't developed the ability to speak beyond noises, so most people are still taught it early on in schools, which at least makes this easier for koba.

- he kinda abandoned his parents to live with his friends. that's not to say he doesn't still live with them and visit home from time to time but him and his friendgroup mostly just hang out and live with eachother. after all, animals still kind of don't have the exact same society as humans yet, so familys don't tend to be as supportive or caring of you in magnolia after they believe you're fine enough to be on your own ( which is usually early on )

Koba was born in a forest in an area of the world where animals were slowly gaining more concious and evolving into more human-like bodies, and adapting to the new features of such.
He's not even the prince of anything or royalty;; His crown was just one of those cheap plastic crowns you give to your children that's painted with a shiny color in order to trick them into thinking its real. Although, he really liked how it looked and decided to wear it, even though he originally got it when he was 5.
He met his three other friends, as they were all born around the same time. Where they live, pregnant woman all huddle inside of one hidden grove, and give birth to all of their children in there. Although they all weren't originally meant to befriend eachother- considering ones a dog, ones a tiger, and ones a cat - they became friends, and have been a very tight-knit group ever since.
also , i never comment on my art ( who does tbh ) but like i just would like to say that i had to upload this like 3 seperate times bc it kept telling me that the image timed out. i had to reselect 21 characters twice and i had to rewrite that description way too much.
