Viq

Eyes: White. 6 almond-shaped eyes with no visible pupils or iris'. The top row are the biggest sets of eyes, downward they get smaller all around.
Skin: Smooth aqua colored skin. When blood flows in excess on Viq's skin (i.e. blushing), it turns white.
Hair: Viq has no hair anywhere.
Body type: Wide all over (thick neck, thick arms, thick midsection, thick thighs, etc). Almost human in silhouette, but not entirely-- his top half seems much larger, all over. His stomach is large and looks soft.
Special notes for Viq's appearance: The top of his head is in a arrow-like shape, and in the back it tapers off to his 'hair', tendrils that reach a bit below his collarbones.
His arms are much larger than regular human proportions-- they're bigger than his face, with only four clawed fingers on each hand; one thumb, three digits.
His feet, by comparison of the rest of his body, are small and thin, with four claws (three toeclaws, one hallux claw).
His "mouth" (called filters) is a bit like a whale's baleen; it is a filter for food-- microorganisms and water. He cannot open his filters, he cannot eat solids. He can speak out of them just fine, though. His filters the same color as his fringe.
He has a short tail where more silky fringe hangs vertically from the middle to the stub of it.

Clothing, piercings: While most Yorii Qin are naturalists (and Viq does prefer being in the nude), he has gotten used to wearing clothes. His normal outfit is a dark beanie, a long dark green trench coat, white v-neck shirt, black pants (sometimes cuffed/rolled up at the bottoms). Since he has clawed feet, he doesn't wear shoes. Usually is seen with dark/black metal tendril-cuffs.
As for piercings, Viq doesn't have any (and doesn't want any). But some Yorii Qin do pierce their tendrils.

Mannerisms: Viq has a tendency to gesticulate softly, as his arms are big and wide. But depending on the company he's keeping, he sometimes 'boxes' people in by having one of his arms surround them, or grabs at their arms/shoulders. Avoids sensitive parts entirely unless he has consent and its an appropriate time (in his own words, "Why would I goose someone when they'd see it coming a mile away?")
Most likely will be seen nursing a glass of some sort of alcoholic beverage and a cigarette in one of his filters.
His eyes speak multitudes for his emotions, and while he's a laid-back guy for the most part, he shows a lot of strong reactions through his facial expressions.
He doesn't really wear his heart on his sleeve and does have a tendency to avoid talking about his true feelings, but he does talk a lot...
Viq really can't help it, he gives almost everyone a nickname (usually one-word identifiers like "glasses" or, if he's feeling bitchy, "kid"/"pipsqueak"); definitely gives those he's interested in pet names (stuff like "sweetheart", "baby", etc). Will forgo real names entirely.

• More interested in sustaining his vices (drinks, drugs, and sex), he doesn't consider much else, including his own feelings.
• Many are fooled by his charisma, as he enjoys telling tales (about himself, mostly), speaks out about his opinions and feelings, or jokes around. It's an accidental deception that he seems carefree and playful.
• Anyone that's dealt with him on a regular occurrence can attest to his bitter, spiky core. Pessimistic and surly, he doesn't care much about making nice, much less friends. His selfish nature probably doesn't help him keep friends or lovers, either. He doesn't mind that too much, though.
• Life itself proves disenchanting for Viq most days. That doesn't stop him from keeping on, though he's not sure why, when pondering over it on days that he can't get his usual dose of partying in.
• He doesn't enjoy looking back or forward, he's very interested in the 'right now'. It can be said that he would like to try anything at least once. Whether he sees through it in the moment is another thing entirely...

• Viq is an alien from an aquatic race known as the Yorii Qin. His people share an overpopulated planet comprised of more water than land with a rivaling race called the Yii Quini. There is constant struggle of power between these two species that leads to unrest of varying degrees on the planet. The populace sprawls from beyond over-full land and coastline into the depths of their bodies of water.
• The planet is under Federation Capitol (a powerful, universe-wide government) rules and is one of the few galaxy-areas that allows any species to leave clothing optional. Viq's planet in particular is one of the reasons for this law-- Yorii Qin and Yii Quini are more accustomed to nudity than clothes (Viq happens to be an exception and even then he slips up and gets aggravated over most species' feelings about naturism, prefers being nude, has no shame about it, etc.)
• Viq has a lot of experience with various races due to the position of his planet: they're very close to the galaxy that the Federation Capitol resides in, and while the alien traffic is high on their planet, not many stay, due to being unable to breathe underwater.
  Being quick to bore, Viq finds himself very interested in making as many friends-- or rather, acquaintances-- with as many different races as possible. It's one of the few things he still enjoys learning more about (beyond acting, and... well, figuring out what people like during sex).

• His mother was a junkie, his father an even bigger mystery-- Viq was raised among many junkies and never too carefully.
  At age 5, still very much a pup, he finally saw slight stability as his "uncle" took care of him for a solid 4 years. Though he hardly saw this 'guardian', there was something mildly satisfying in his heart about the solitude and responsibility he held.
• His whole life had been shaped by this responsibility that he handles with ease-- grind first, enjoy soon after... Rinse, repeat.
• He picked up acting when passing by a youth outreach program during his adolescence, with no reservations about what he was getting into. He found performing in front of others immensely satisfying-- to Viq there's nothing more satisfying to know the things you 'touch' leave tangible changes, in this instance, the change in feelings and atmosphere after a play-- and while he was unable to continue to afford acting into his adulthood, it would eventually follow him and prove useful at a later age...
• Stumbled upon his current job by lying about several things before, during, and after the interview and hiring process. It wasn't until new management came along and tightened the ship that they realized Viq wasn't what he said to be. But by then Viq had been fully trained and was perfunctory at his job, so there was no point in firing him.
• His work as a inspector for the government matters little to him though it takes up a lot of his time. The grunt-work-- inspecting homes, apartments, and hotels for being up to lawful accordance-- is a means to get money for liquor, drugs, and cigarettes. It also happens to pay the bills and keeps him safe from getting arrested for any transgressions he commits (which would explain his thirst for trouble).
• Viq had always been willing to pay extra for buildings above water on his home-planet, even if it sometimes broke the bank for him. When he realized that he didn't care whether or not he lived there, he moved on to several different planets with cheaper real estate (to him, home-- usually apartments-- is only good for a stable place to sleep). Since his job is government ordained, its secure as long as the planet is under FC rule and, most importantly, has dwellings for him to inspect and report back. Not that he would care even if he couldn't keep it...

• Like the junkies he was raised with, he expects every day to bring him some form of pleasure. Some days it's sex, others drugs. Most days it's easiest to get liquor.
• Once fought with a bouncer on some backwater planet with trashy bars and got asked by a milquetoast indie filmmaker to play a stoic-type. The film was a bust but many viewers (and talent scouts) were charmed by Viq's energy and level of acting.
  Suffice to say, it wasn't long before he was getting offers for bigger and better films, working his way through the usual action and rare romcom (genres that are still very much alive and kicking in the far future).
• Viq is enamored with the sudden shoot to stardom and paychecks as it allows him to do what he normally does, but with no budget limit. He happily ignores any/all paternity claims and insipid rumors, even as they might be true in any case. (lol)
  He doesn't necessarily expect it to last forever, but his full-time inspecting job is cutting back his hours like crazy after figuring out why he asked for so much time off for a few good years (and seeing the damn slacker on the big screen), so it better work out!
