The Demon Thief

Don't be fooled by thinking your safe after hearing Cardigan's warm and cuddly name. He's got a lot of sway and influence throughout the underground. He's a dangerous man. Cardigan is strong willed. He knows how to lead, and he knows how to keep people in line and how to attract followers. He can go from treating a fellow member like an equal and sharing his bread with them to harshly trying to teach them a lesson. He's a bit wild and  un-tamable, but most of his followers see him as a father figure because he truly does look out for every single one of them and seems to have their best interests at heart. But most outsiders see him as a demon.

The tattoo on his cheek has come to symbolize that he is an official member of a prominent thief ring (that he founded}. It doesn't matter that it is an easily recognizable symbol because they don't get caught! They're that good, and you can only get the tattoo if you prove yourself first. Cardigan only assigns it to his best thieves as a way of branding them and showing them off. They can't betray him with that marking. Only other people who work in similar underground rings know what the symbol means. 

Relationships: Morgan used to work for his ring until he ran out, and now Cardigan is on the look out for him like he was his own. Morgan was one of the few who earned a tattoo to match Cardigan's. Cardigan even taught Morgan how to read and communicate.
