The third daughter of queen Reneé of Weatha, Princess Rachel Alexandria Meredith Chevalier Arcus' wealth never stopped things from going completely out of their tracks. A self proclaimed bad luck magnet, Rachel has famously managed to remain an immovable object and an unstoppable force throughout her entire life, despite the ever so scarring moments occuring before her own eyes so often.

Still, her own responses to such traumatic events have long left her with the impression she could never make things right with her own people, thus making her give up her place in the Arcus royal family's sucession line, accelerating her daughter Lara's time to rule by a few decades.

Rachel was born into royalty, and while it came with many positives, it also meant just about too much attention to what she was doing. Always. The third out of five children of Queen Reneé and King Glynn of Weatha, she was appointed to the throne after her rainbow-colored hair.

Childhood

Her childhood was mostly normal... as normal as a royal's could be, though. From language to complex history lessons, Rachel can't really say her childhood was, well, childlike. She did demonstrate a rather closed-off demeanor, accidentally coming off as rude or stuck up to any other children (aside from her sisters) she'd find around.

Teenagehood

After the awakening of her nature powers at ~11, she started training with her father and his friends to one day become a demon huntress, making her become even closer to him. Of course, she also started attending a demon hunting school, where she met the people who would eventually help her create AEGIS.

Still, her training was cut short by the death of her father at 15, a murder caused by the wrong belief that a rainbow-haired Kolr’s blood can bring luck — the hit that killed him was meant for Reneé, his wife, but ultimately missed. Her psyche suffered greatly from seeing her father die before her own eyes, and the reveal of the murderer’s intentions triggered a great resentment against the planet’s inhabitants. This shift caused her to eventually secretly join Entropy and abandon the life she had. She was a great agent for them, doing their bidding with minimal resistance.

This phase only lasted for a few weeks, yet it would haunt her for decades to come. After being brought to her senses by Felix (who would later become her husband) and her older sisters, she once again returned home, where her social circles surprisingly received her with open arms.

But even then, she wanted revenge. This time, she left (with her family’s knowledge) to train with a mysterious assassin who lived in an isolated area, her prior fame helping him accept her as a pupil. He taught her most of the techniques she would later on use for her job as an assassin.

After her return at 17, she named her hunting team AEGIS, with the intention of making them grow as an organization to counter Entropy in the future. With her intense training, she passed her final hunting exams with flying colors, becoming a professional demon huntress.

Adulthood

As a young adult, she used her influence and connections to pitch the idea for AEGIS to a few powerful folk, most of which agreed to invest in her dream. With their main goal being the defense of all Kowjo citizens beyond political relationships, the organization grew steadily under her command, always aided by the now professionals she called ‘childhood friends’.

However, it seemed being a part of AEGIS founding team was a curse: at 23, Isabel unfortunately died after complications in the birth of her daughter Mery, leaving everyone devastated. Still, they all agreed to dedicate their time to help raising the child in the facilities — after all, it was where they spent a lot of their time.

Just about a year later, Rachel became pregnant with her first child, Taylor. She and Felix rushed to marry, as having a child out of wedlock as a royal would be quite the scandal. It was rather tough to dedicate her time to another child, but she managed.

She continued to hunt even after her son’s birth, eventually stopping once again to have her second daughter: Lara, the appointed heiress of Weatha due to how choosing their heir works in the kingdom. Raising both of her children quite close to other hunters and people who could make it a more safe job, they both developed a dream to aid the fight against Olen one day.

When Lara was three years old, her friends Hibiki and Taiga became pregnant with their first child… unfortunately, an untimely accident on one of their facilities caused both of them to pass away… sort of. Rachel demanded the now huge organization’s science branch keep Hibiki alive, if only just enough so that the baby would be born in good health. With another loss at the core of the organization, it fractured the structure quite deeply, though she managed to still hold on.

With the pressure of running AEGIS, studying to become a queen, ‘raising’ about too many children, past events and her side gig as an assassin, Rachel eventually cracked under the pressure and gave up her place on the line of succession in a mental breakdown, much to her husband’s well intentioned relief… it was terrible seeing his wife look and feel miserable with all the burdens she bore.

Things started to strangely look up after Mery’s accident, in which Félicie and Gaétan returned to the organization to once again give their support. Just about right after, her daughter Lara offered herself as an offering of peace between Weatha and Nelsea (which was, in fact, the birthplace of Glynn’s murderer), being transfered to Wynd Academy, a school in which she would learn to hunt, herself. Though his initially worried the family, Lara’s excellent reported experience was a giant relief to all of them.

Today

After retiring from demon hunting, she now runs AEGIS full-time, overseeing the whole organization's operations in detail. She does sometimes help her mother with the kingdom, but has to be convinced to do so by multiple people.
