⚓ | Mizuko (橘 水子)

Mizuko is incredibly childish, in his speech, mannerisms, clothing choice, even food choices much to others embarrassment. (Going to a fancy restuarant with Mizuko is not recommended unless you're his boyfriend, he likes to purposefully order childish choices to make others feel uncomfortable.) While he seems like a 12 year old most of the time, in classrooms and pivate settings, Mizuko can take on a very mature demeanor stating whatever comes to mind bluntly (as usual), but without his normal tone and with added terminology and jargon. However, this "boring" side to Mizuko only shows itself when he is researching at university (or working there) or having a Serious Discussion.

In their cave, or apartment, Mizuko is a gracious lover. Hugging and kissing whatever he can, whenever he can. He carries Tadachi around the place when the other doesn't want legs and does all the cooking for the two of them. Tadachi swears he will take Mizuko somewhere nice to get some better clothes (but not if Mizuko can help it!) However, when it comes to Tadachi's princely flirting, Mizuko can't help but blush. Tada makes him feel like the mer would give the ocean to him if he could. (And he would.)

• He goes to Tokyo for university, but moves back to Iwami the age of 30, with a job at the local aquarium.
• He's a really fanboy for his passions. He especially loves shorter romance manga.
• He loves drawing, has done since he was young, and has done quite a few commissions and book illustrations.
• Basically only drinks chocolate milk, and hates coffee in any form.
• "Stop shouting, I'm coming! ... Hahahaha" "It's not as funny as you think it is."
• Ends texts with ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) whenever possible.

Mizuko's parentage is complicated. Mizuko's birth parents were school friends a couple of houses down from each other in Iwami, and conceived him as a drunken mistake in university. Luckily for Mizuko, their younger siblings (the fathers who raised Mizuko) were more than willing to adopt the child despite still being in highschool themselves. Being born a couple weeks earlier than expected, Mizuko's fathers actually ended up skipping the last week of school to care for their new baby.

After his fathers graduation, Mizuko lived in Tokyo until he was four. Beyond running around in empty lecture halls and learning to swim, he doesn't remember many of these years at all.

Once in Iwami, Mizuko's life starts happening all at once. He goes to pre-school, Mimizu is born, he meets Tadachi after a stormy day, and every day after that. He tries to help with Mimizu's bullying once she's in school too, and at the very edge of his childhood, he and Tadachi kiss.

Hormones start raging, but it's only others that are affected. Girls start to take an interest in him, and this has occasionally caused issues with Mizuko and Tadachi, however, nothing more than explanations and coffee could fix. There is also the end of school to consider: Mizuko decides to study Marine Biology (in no small part thanks to the nature of his boyfriend), it's only the location of the campus he chooses up for debate with Tadachi. Although, with some carefully choosen words and after-sex confessions, Tadachi decides to follow Mizuko into Tokyo for his studies.

Cooped up in a tiny apartment with Tadachi is the best thing to ever happen to Mizuko. He can study what he wants, eat whatever he wants, and they can have sex whenever they want. Sure, Tadachi's temporary legs have caused some issues, Mimizu is going through some extreme stuff in middle school, and Mizuko decided to do a Ph.D without properly thinking about it. And then Tsuki was there for a bit too. But he's enjoying his life, and that's what's important.

Mizuko is a researcher who works with marine mammals, and occasionally gives input for new marine tech. His hand-picked research team is delighted to have Tadachi aboard for their long boat trips, a member of the species that was the focus of Mizuko's doctorate. Though after a few too many research trips and reports written, Mizuko starts looking for other work. There's a care taker position open at his hometown's aquarium? He moves back to Iwami with a new job at the aquarium at the age of 30, and Tadachi is more than happy to have a house so close to the ocean.
