Once a popular contest star in Unova, Penelope fell from grace after she got into a spat with another popular contest champion, and ended up being cancelled on Twitter. Sick of being judged and part of an all-around horrible crowd in the contest scene, she decided to leave the region and do some exploring and soul-searching.
Penelope is notorious for having many relations which have all ended in spectacular failure. She can't seem to keep a boy/girlfriend around for more than a few months, and contributed to her reputation in the Contest scene. Currently, she's simply enjoying being single and hanging out with friends, rather than trying to date.
She's a sucker for a Pokemon in need, and tends to have much more empathy for Pokemon over people. She often throws herself into danger to help, much to her friend's dismay.
Penny's best friend is Aleo Oliverus. They grew up together in Unova, and while they took very different paths in life, they still talk and meet often, occasionally traveling together and hanging out. They're an incredible dance pair, who often seek out bars and dance halls to flex in in every region they visit.
- Many of Penelope's Pokemon have music-themed names.
- While only some of Penny's Pokemon are battlers, all of them are contest stars, and given an hour of prep, Penny is capable of putting on an incredible show. She's largely given up that life, however, finding that being in the spotlight kind of sucks, and she now prefers to travel with her friends.
- Pokemon that Penny uses but aren't currently on her 6-slot team don't go to a PC storage like usual, instead, she sends them back to her parent's farm, where they hang out with her parents and help out until they're needed.
- Penelope has never caught a Pokemon. Every one she's had has either been a gift, or acquired through a bond of trust, and the Pokeball became a necessary formality. She strongly believes in Pokemon making the choice to be with their trainer, and if any of her Pokemon ever wanted to leave, she would be upset, but understanding, and allow them to go.
- Penelope has a very unhealthy relationship with the Legendary Pokemon Xerneas. She hasn't caught it, just set it free and communicated with it, but it does occasionally use her a puppet to speak to other humans and accomplish certain goals. Penelope does not appreciate or enjoy this.
ITEM: Zoroarkite
ABILITY: Illusion
GENDER: ♂
Her first Pokemon, Whisper the Zoroark has been by her side for as long as she can remember, and the pair are never apart. Whisper hates his Pokeball, and Penny cna probably count the number of times he's been in it outside of Cetner healing on two hands. They understand each other, able to communicate despite the human-pokemon language barrier very effectively.
Whisper has a special Mega Evolution form unique to him.

Dirge slept a long time as a spirit, waking up on a cold mountain hundreds, if not thousands, of years after her death, and wandering for some time. When Penny found Dirge as a wandering Zorua, she had no idea what it was. The Zorua spirit promptly tried to attack her, and Whisper stepped in to block the attack. Confused and intrigued, the Zorua couldn't fathom why a Pokemon would do that, and after some convincing and bribing with treats on Penelope's part, the Zorua decided to stay, for now, and see what all the fuss was about after being refused and abondoned by humans long ago.
Dirge is still wary of humans, and won't obey orders she doesn't like (which is most of them). She had no sense of attachment or empathy for people and Pokemon alike yet, and comes across as distant and occasionally malicious as she tests the boundaries of her new trainer.

The second of Penelope's acquired Pokemon, Melody the Altaria has a horrible sense of direction and navigation skills. Seperated from her flock as a Swablu, Penny tried to reunite the pokemon with her family, but she simply ended up lost again, so Penelope took her in. Melody has been with her since, and acts as the doting mother and caretaker of most of her other Pokemon, but especially Hugbear and Vilvaern.
While she could, theoretically, carry Penelope to fly with her, her sense of direction is so bad she can never figure out where to go, and gets lost. Penny has long since given up on this idea.
ITEM: Bewearite
ABILITY: Fluffy
GENDER: ♂
Hugbear originally belonged to one of Penelope's boyfriends from her contest days. He brought a very cute and friendly Stufful back from a trip to Alola to use in contests, but when it evolved into a Bewear, he promptly abandoned it in the streets. Penelope dumped the man, took Hugbear, and has kept him with her ever since. Hugbear has extreme seperation anxiety and fear of abandoment issues, and will immediately start to cry if Penelope isn't in his sight.
Hugbear has a Mega Evolution unique to him.
ABILITY: Keen Eye
GENDER: ♀
When Penny was visiting Alola with Aleo, she found a stray Rockruff in Hua'oli city. As it begged her for food, growling all the while, and them promptly snapped at her after, she figured someone had found it too aggressive and abandoned it. With some time, trial and error, and a lot of treats used as bribes, she convinced the Rockruff to stay and had Aleo help her settle it down, though it never seemed to completely lose it's feral side. Eventually, the Rockruff evolved into a Midnight Lycanroc.
Kanna is one of Penelope's most capable, and enthusiastic, battlers, but she suffers from narcolepsy during the daytime, and is only active and spry at night. Penny avoids sending her out during the day and battling with her when the sun is up even more so, as this narcolepsy doesn't wane in battle.
The Lycanroc has a puppy, and Penelope has no idea when this happened, how it happened, and why it happened. But one day she ran off, leaving Penelope horribly distraught for days, and meandered back like nothing was wrong a few days later with a Rockruff in tow. Penny couldn't keep it, so she gifted the Rockruff to Percy with Kanna's approval.

One of Penelope's finest contest performers, Bachata isn't much for usual battles. She's capable but weaker than the rest of her team, and becomes incredibly distressed is she is dirty or hurt. Has a flair for the dramatic, and adds to performances with showers of sparks and flame as she dances with Penelope on stage.

Penelope found the tiny deerling starving and near death in a graveyard after it's mother had apparently passed away. At great personal risk to herself, Penelope rescued the Deerling from being finished off by a nearby Haunter, catching the ghost and dubbing it "Bastard" before taking the Deerling to a Pokemon Center. (The Haunter was later traded to her doubles partner, Trio, as she wanted nothing to do with it.) She nursed the grass-type back to health, and it decided to stay on her team out of gratitude. Now evolved, Vilvaern is her premier Pokemon for Travel, being fast and large enough to carry her on his back.
