Born in Paldea, Aleo moved to Unova with grandmother after his mother's passing when he was around 5. Aleo was shy and quiet, and he didn't speak the native language of Unova at all. This led to him being nervous and withdrawn at school, until Penelope Noskav, who had a mother from Paldea and could speak both languages, started to talk to him. They quickly became fast friends, as she helped him communicate with the people around him who couldn't speak Paldean and teaching him Unovan.
The two have been best friends ever since, even going through a short period where they dated (and subsequentally decided that wasn't going to work at all), and remain so to this day. Aleo is charming and bright, and loves to chat and learn more about the people around him. He's always looking to see new sights and experience new things, so he travels in his free time.
Currently, Aleo is a student at a university, studying in the specialized field of Pokemon therapy. His specialty is hyper-aggressive Pokemon, working closely with them to calm them down and make them friendly towards people and other Pokemon again. He won't return a Pokemon to a bad trainer if he deems that the cause, and will find a new home for them.

Aleo's starter Pokemon, Cora has been with him since the beginning. The Quaquaval and his trainer both share a love of dancing. The pair often dance together, though the Pokemon is a bit more judgemental in the performance of its partners. Corazón has a bad habit of thinking he knows what's best for Aleo, and can be tempermental with people he doesn't get a good first impression of. It's hard work to change Corazón's mind.
A capable battler, but the Quaquaval would rather dance and hang out than participate in any battles, as he becomes distraught if he gets dirty or his feathers get out of line, and he must fix his appearance as soon as possible. However, Corazón can and will apocalyptically slap down anyone who would threaten Aleo or any of his other Pokemon.

Aleo's second Pokemon, the two met when Aleo was very young and often plagued with nightmares. The Munna was drawn to his restless sleep, and would keep his nightmares at bay. Finally, Aleo stayed up one night to meet it, and offered to let it stay with him forever. It agreed, Aughra is the wisest and calmest of Aleo's companions.

Aleo met Atreyu when he overheard some rangers talking about putting down an aggressive Pokemon while on a camping trip. He committed a minor crime by catching the Bagon that had wandered out of the mountains, and spent the next two years rehabilitating and befriending it. Atreyu is now the world's kindest and chillest Salamence, and all around very friendly and good with people. Inseperable from Aleo.

While she doesn't battle, Moro often provides emotional support and companionship for Aleo. Penelope's Zoroark, Whisper, has a crush on her, and she's been leading him on for years.

The most enthusiastic battler of Aleo's largely passive team, he caught Amalthea as a Ponyta while backpacking in Galar because he thought she was cute.

Aquired through kidnapping, Aleo simply up and took Jaret's Pokeball from an abusive trainer when he was drunk at a party. He denied knowing where the Lapras was when asked, and much to the Lapras's delight, he's been a dependable part of Aleo's team ever since.
