He’s stubborn to a stupid level. When it comes to something that he feels he needs to do or that he can put his heart into he’ll refuse to just give up. (Sorry Myst) He’s also incredibly protective of those he cares about and will do just about anything to keep them safe and unharmed. Again, he does this to a fault and it’s caused more harm than good to himself. Other than that he tends to be spunky, and he can be a sweet boy if you manage to make it past his bad habits and mannerisms.

History

Ku was orphaned at a very young age and, due to head trauma received in the incident, has no recollection of what happened to him or his now deceased parents. For all he knows, he was abandoned at birth... and it doesn't bother him too much. However. he wasn't brought into the best of lives when he was left in the orphanage.

If you listen to the whispers around his home town, Shining Stars orphanage was, and quite possibly still is, a place of abuse and at times starvation for the young lives that call it's walls their home. It's a place for children who really do have nowhere else to go and not so much a drop off point for those parents that can no longer provide for their child.

At first it was a place that caused dread in his young heart... but that was only until he met Micah. Micah was a weak child that was often bullied out of food and alienated from the other children. Ku being the sweet little thing he was saw this as an opportunity for a new friend and began protecting the boy. In fact, over time they had grown so close that Ku had become overly protective over his friend and that trait lasts to this day.

When Ku was around 12 years old, they made plans at night to run. To rid themselves of the hell they called home and make a better life for themselves even if it would result in hardships or death. It was worth it. They snuck out on one of the rare nights of festivities when their guardians would be distracted by the other rambunctious children.

Life was difficult after that. They had stolen what they needed from the orphanage food stores in order to feed themselves until they could reach a neighboring town. This began their travel to try and avoid being found, even though they were not likely searched for to that extent due to the previously mentioned conditions. It wasn't uncommon for a child to disappear for one reason or another. Ku made due when their supplies began to dwindle by taking up small jobs that people were willing to give to a child. At times they were dangerous, but most we as simple as making little delivery runs or helping with harvests. He refused to make Micah work hard because he knew his friend was physically weak.

Though this could only last so long. There were only so many people that were willing to hire a child and the pay wasn't great. Ku knew if they were to have a roof over their head they needed more. This would result in him making a number of poor decisions that lead him to his current situation.

There was a day that came when the two boys that were huddle under a canopy in the the rain. Micah has grown sick from being exposed to the weather of the rainy season and he was only becoming worse. It cause Ku to become desperate and begin to beg. It drew the attention of those who'd seek to use the child in exchange for a roof over their head and care for a sick/potentially dying friend. This man that took them in was needlessly greedy and had no intention of letting the poor boys debt be paid... so up until recently Ku had stayed as a slave essentially, desperately trying to repay the debts that the man continued to pile up on him. (Pretty much a "I did this for you, now you owe me more.")

Today

Ku is 19 now and his "master" had gained a terrible debt over the years to a local brothel that he frequented. Funny how a man so caught up on building up a child's debt wound have one of his own. Well, to relieve himself of this, he essentially sold Ku to the brothel by claiming to Ku that he needed to pay his debts or Micah would be thrown into the task instead... So being the protective brother he was, he took up this job having no experience at all in the matters of a brothel. He's surely in for an interesting time.
