| Personality | Having spent so long with her cold-hearted twin brother, Fey developed a very outgoing personality, friendly and energetic when she met strangers. Her energy was sapped away as her dream of being loved slipped from her grasp. In her depressed state, she is self-deprecating, anxious, and expects the worst from anyone. After being rebuffed in her most vulnerable state, she realized she cannot rely on anyone... so she's just meant to be sad. She has a tendency to gravitate towards familiar folk when in distress, even if they don't want her around. Unfortunately for her, this has led to her getting lashed out at a lot. She was never an effective fighter, and is nervous whenever there is the prospect of conflict. In particular, she is afraid of bears due to their size, and she was afraid to cross her brother since he was stronger than her. She wanted to sharpen her skills more, but BrookClan was peaceful. She was a natural-born hunter and fisher though, and proud of her self-taught skills. She feels safer up in the trees. | |
| History | She was born a kittypet named Fey. Her time was spent following her littermates around, playing whatever games they wanted just so that she'd be with someone. Her mother warned her that kittens would get adopted separately in most cases, and they would be taken to different homes, which scared her. So when her brother Dover decided to escape and live in the wild, she convinced him to let her go with. It was kind of a mistake; she knew Dover was the least affectionate of her siblings, but he was downright cold through the years they spent together. They made a good team when it came to survival, her a prodigious self-taught hunter, and him a great fighter, but instead of spending time with her, Dover would drive her away, and hit her if she tried to stay by him. When she learned of the warrior clans, she wanted to join BrookClan, so they parted ways. She thought he might come around to visit, but she never saw her brother again. She worked her way up to warriorhood, and felt at home there. She made friends with clan cats, but none were very close, and she never found a romantic relationship like she wanted. As a senior warrior, she had ThornClan's leader get her pregnant so that she could at least have a litter. She had only one kit, Juncokit, alongside many other queens. One of them, Foxholly, had kits the same age as Juncokit. The two she-cats didn't get along, Erminestripe not liking her attitude and snooty demeanor. She started to feel bad for Foxholly's mate, Goosetail, and started talking to him. Goosetail started to believe the accusations that Foxholly was a murderer, and also began to fall for Erminestripe, spending an increasing amount of time with her and her son. He admitted he was hesitant to start another family so soon, but wanted to leave his mate for her. She told him to tell Foxholly, but he put it off out of fear. After he missed his kits' apprentice ceremony in favour of bonding with Juncopaw, they were confronted. Foxholly told her that he hadn't broke up with her, which upset Erminestripe, but ultimately, she stayed with him, to the chagrin of both their children. Goosetail's kids bullied Juncopaw relentlessly, which Erminestripe insisted he get under control, but they wouldn't listen to their father, fighting him at every turn. She was given Smoltpaw as an apprentice, an arrangement that would be cut short when she got pregnant. Having a mate and raising a litter together was her dream, but the whole clan seemed pissed at her. Ravenhaze told her Juncopaw was going to be unhappy with her first, but she was sure that he would be a good brother like he was to Icepaw and Olivinepaw. Ravenhaze was right, Juncopaw got pretty mad, which made her cry. Goosetail meanwhile, struggled to round up his kids to tell them, and was met with cold indifference. Pregnancy hit her hard, and she threw up on Shadowpaw when she had sudden morning sickness. Salmonpool called out Goosetail for neglecting to train Alevinpaw and she knew he felt the same about her not training Smoltpaw. Even worse, Foxholly was the one who picked up his training and was trying to pointedly show her up. She realized that all the children hated her, or thought she was fun to gossip about at best. Feeling like she'd failed her son, she doubted her ability to raise Petrelkit, the only kit of her litter. Juncopaw, despite his reservations, did come around to visit and see Petrelkit, which really kept her going. Goosetail, on the other paw, kept falling asleep when he was supposed to be helping with Petrelkit. One day, Tawnypaw and Warblerpaw asked Juncopaw to play with them, which was strange, but Erminestripe was hopeful... until she heard her son scream. When she got to the water, he was saying Shadowpaw had tried to drown him, while the others were panicking that Shadowpaw himself was drowning. She wanted to comfort her son, but he just screamed at her and panicked while the others retrieved Shadowpaw's body. To her shock, Goosetail accused Juncopaw of drowning Shadowpaw. She tried to settle back down, but couldn't be present for Petrelkit when so worked up. Once again, she tried to be with her son, but he was angry, and worried that he would be blamed for Shadowpaw's death. Unbeknownst to her at the time, he had a conversation with Froststar, where they agreed the safest thing for him would be to leave and join ThornClan. Froststar publicly spoke of the event as a prank that had gone wrong, but Erminestripe believed Juncopaw that the other apprentice tried to kill him. He said goodbye to her, but she thought he was just saying goodnight. The next morning, when she couldn't find him, she searched camp, even asking Goosetail if he'd seen him. Finally, Froststar admitted that he'd chosen to leave, which she protested on the grounds of him being too young to make that choice, but her argument went nowhere. When she came across Foxholly, the two got into a fight, Erminestripe blaming Shadowpaw for Juncopaw leaving, and Foxholly blaming Juncopaw for Shadowpaw's death, and her and Goosetail for how the kids were behaving to begin with. Erminestripe brought up the fact that Foxholly was accused of murder herself, and Goosetail, who'd told her about this, left without backing her up. They had to be separated. She realized there was nothing for her in BrookClan, and left without planning. She considered joining Juncopaw in ThornClan, but him leaving stung so much she felt stupid for thinking he might not be upset if she showed up. She recalled MoonClan had a nursing queen, and decided to run through the territory, dropping Petrelkit in camp without a word and without stopping. Leaving the clans, she took her name Fey back, and started to look for Dover, unaware that he'd died already. | |
