- He is a Dainty, he has hooved deer legs and his stockings cannot be removed or altered!
- His vitiligo markings don't need to be exact, but please place them in the same general locations! Same with the freckles!
- Please draw him in either his pajamas, or his pajamas + raincoat, thank you! The raincoat only has the duck pattern on the torso portion, none are on the sleeves at all!
- Please color-pick off his reference! It's okay if you change the hues and whatnot, but please go off these colors!
- His vitiligo is a result of his disease - At one point, his body attacked its own melanocytes, destroying the pigment in portions of his skin. Doctors managed to halt the progress of this, but weren't able to reverse the damage already done.
- He has a yellow duck plush that keeps him company throughout long sleepless nights!
- He's at the hospital so much that they keep a special set of bedding and clothing just for him set aside - he's allowed to wear button-up pajamas instead of the usual hospice gowns as well, since they aren't typically hinderances to his procedures.
- His raincoat is a special kind of plastic that doesn't allow for the growth of bacteria on its surface. He likes to wear it even if it isn't raining, as it makes him feel safe and protected.
Shiloh is a dreadfully shy person with a fear of just about any social interaction. He's reclusive, easily overwhelmed, and a huge crybaby. He's so hesitant to make social bonds that not even his parents have been able to get close to him. He's never really had someone be a constant presence in his life, so he doesn't have a lot of experience with getting close to others and it shows, making him a rather socially awkward person. He's not very hopeful of his future, often thinking pessimistically by default despite his best efforts. However, Shiloh is also a kind, sympathetic, and gentle person, preferring to relax and go with the flow rather than to stress over uncertainties.
- TV, video games (though, he's not good at them), youtube, and other passive medias to help him get through the day.
- Ducks, lambs, any baby animals really! The more pet-able and friendly, the better! He loves when people bring their puppies around to visit!
- Quiet spaces. Idle background noise is alright, but he likes to have a tranquil atmosphere around him whenever possible.
- Whimsical crafts and items, like bubbles and glow-in-the-dark star stickers for the ceiling!
- Hospitals, he's spent enough time in them to last him a lifetime!
- Sharing a room with others, especially if he doesn't know them.
- Being woken up. It's hard enough for him to fall asleep!
Shiloh was born with a rare disease affecting his immune system, causing his body to attack itself for seemingly no good reason. This degenerative disease has left Shiloh with a lot of time spent in hospital wings in the company of various nurses and doctors. It currently has no cure and no clear end in sight, but Shiloh has his ups and downs. Sometimes, the medical staff manage to halt the degeneration entirely, which allows Shiloh to leave the hospital for the time being. However, after so many stints like this, Shiloh has learned not to get his hopes up - one way or another, he always ends back up in a hospital bed. There's no known cause, so Shiloh instead has to deal with many limitations placed upon his lifestyle in order to limit exposure to potential causes, and doing certain activities that some may take for granted requires a lot of steps and various approvals for him to be able to partake. Despite their best efforts, all the medical teams that have ever worked with him haven't been able to find a cure for his disease, and he's somewhat of a medical mystery. His treatments are expensive, but it's nothing his wealthy family can't handle.
Seeing as how Shiloh has spent most of his life in the care of hospitals, he's very reluctant to get close with anyone. Any friendship he's had in the past has crumbled due to his condition, and even his familial relationships have suffered. He hardly ever sees his parents, and even so, he wasn't close with them to begin with. While they do visit him, he's never had the chance to have a deep bond with them, and the idea of deep bonds with others in general seem rather foreign to him.
Shiloh resides in a world very similar to our own, where dainties aren't a rarity but aren't incredibly common either. He has two homes; he spends small amounts of time at home living with his parents, but the vast majority of his time is spent in a hospital bed. He's there so often that his room, though shared, is decorated with bright blues and soft yellows to help him feel more at home. The area around the hospital is scenic, with plenty of plant life flourishing in small courtyards and along windowsills for patients to enjoy. This hospital is intended to house those with long stays, and is rather expensive, though Shiloh's parents have no issue paying it. The weather is nice most of the time, but Shiloh prefers it when it rains.
