Merrick is a grouchy half-angel with an overbearing parent.

His birth was a cause of celebration for Meli'aki. He has always been close between both of his parents, though it is safe to say Meli'aki covers far more ground-- eventually, as Merrick grew older, he was given permission to spread his wings and utilize his natural skills.

He doesn't exactly want to follow in Meli'aki's footsteps, but is often pried from any other pursuits to aid in guardianship. In a sense, he is stuck with this path.

He does not have the same powers (much less the same grace) as Meli'aki, though that doesn't seem to deter their need to keep Merrick close.

Personality

Merrick can come off shy, which isn't on the mark. It's more proper to say he is unsure, usually about himself and his choices/actions, or skeptical about other people's actions. 

As he has grown, it's become apparent that he can be resistant to authority (especially Meli'aki.. in privacy), clamming up and refusing to cooperate just for the sake of retaining some semblance of self-identity. He has far less need to appeal to other mortals (or half-mortals, such as he), on account of not given an actual position within the Seraphic realm.
Though he is older, his mindset and reactions are akin to a rebellious teenager, without as much bite.

Deep down, he is soft-hearted and optimistic, namely about how his life will play out, on account of having a far greater sense of vitality and energy toward himself (as in, he's aware on some level that he will live longer than ones average Elf).

Notes

- Merrick's teeth are sharp like Meli'aki's.
- Merrick has two sets of wings.
   His tail and wings are both optional to draw, but the body patterning is not.
- He cannot speak the Seraphic tongue... Not that Meli'aki doesn't coddle him and avoiding speaking the language when he's around.
