Civilian History
Kalama didn’t know much about her history. She grew up in foster care, handed over at the age of three. While she wasn’t adopted, she did find an amazing family in the Mona family. She found an amazing set of dads in Haku and Connor, and honorary siblings in Leia, Tony, and Ned. She lived with them for fifteen years, only living to attend university on Oahu with an open invitation to return whenever she wants.
Upon her move to Honolulu, Kalama found a small apartment within walking distance to – and she started working for the Moana Family at one of their restaurants. After a few months, she was promoted from a waitress to a hula dancer. While working as a hula dancer, Kalama caught the eye of a local photographer who thought she would make an excellent model.

Mona Family
[ Foster family ] Since she doesn’t have a family of her own, Kalama sees Haku and Connor as her parents. They took her in, loving and caring for her and treating her like a member of the family. Unknown to her, Haku and Connor wanted to adopted her, but her parents refused to sign away their parental rights. She has siblings in Leia, Tony, and Ned.
Lani Moana
[ Friend/Employer ] When Kalama first moved to Honolulu, she found a job working at one of the restaurants owned by the Moana Family. After working there a few weeks, she was transferred to a different restaurant to help with a party where she met Lani. Through Lani, she was encouraged to audition for a hula dancer role at a different restaurant.
