Melanie is a Wendigo that was cursed as a young girl to become said monster. It's a curse that goes from every next generation in her family and the Moore's embrace it well. Unfortunately before Melanie showed heavy genes, she was a rather ill child. Her eye-sight failed as well as her health, and although she did bloom late, the damages are still left over to some extent. She's required to take medication and eat more often than not to keep her health stabilized.
Upon meeting Elijah, Melanie had been extremely sheltered at a young age due to illness and her species. He was one of the first people that she had ever met that wasn't directly related to her, and she had began to show yandere-like tendencies. Quickly she fell inlove with Elijah and is now generally obsessed and attached to the hip with him.
Melanie is still rather detached from society, which is most likely better for the rest of the world. She's a bit unstable and Elijah is similar to that of a buffer for her, given he's a bit of a family friend and helps Melanie when she falls ill.

Elijah is a demon halfling that was simply born the way that he is. He's a rather intelligent male and is fortunately alot more stable than most people he encounters. His right eye is hidden due to the fact that it can see a person's remaining life-span. Unfortunately, it's two types of vision and causes severe headaches, so he has to keep a patch over it.
When meeting Melanie, he was actually taken back by her. The Murdocks know the Moores, but Melanie and Elijah had never met prior. Elijah wasn't actually keen on Melanie as first due to her lack of extensive knowledge from home schooling, and just commonly what she is. Overtime, through her violent tendencies, he did become intrigued by her creativity and violent displays of love.
Because of his social standing in the world, Elijah is still required to carry on his life like normal and blend in. He attends night-college and spends his days with Melanie since he is all she has when it comes to any outside interaction. She aids in her care when she falls sick and keeps him company when he's doing school work for his classes.
