| Richard is the very definition of narcissism. He thinks the world of himself and himself a gift to the world. He's pompous and arrogent, winning him few friends, though that doesnt matter to him just so long as he has himself he's content. He's quick to get upset or frustrated when attention is taken off of himself and will throw a tantrum when things don't go his way. |

Backstory |
| Richard was the result of an affair between his father and a cryptid woman. Knowing that leaving him with her could come back to bite him in the ass, William took Richard into his family and kept him hidden away from the world. Richard grew up in a holiday home far from the Vail residence, raised by handmaids and nannys. He would get very rare and short visits from his father and never from his mother and sister. Why? "well because you're so special of course." "your father just wants to keep you safe" "you're not like you're sister, you're unique." A child raised on these answers disguised as praise from those who daren't defy nor say a bad word about him is bound to develop an ego. He spent his former years alone, with a revolving door of staff coming and going never there to form a bond with the child. He sought his own company, beginning his long time obsession with himself. Eventually Richards father decided that he cant have the boy freeloading around forever but letting him off on his own could threaten his image, so William set Richard up with a cozy job at the Cryptid Control, special divisions. Richard was put in charge of the infamous "Nought Case". An important and long running case against a cryptid perpetrator, one of the worst known to Terra. Dispite its importance, the case had a reputation of poor success and high death rate of those in charge, leaving the case to fester in the background as low priority. The perfect case for a spoilt brat to play police with. --- Come one fateful night. A call comes in about a group of cryptids loitering, a normal call to come in to the CC, however one of these cryptids are identified as Nought. Richard isn't informed, they don't want him in the way. Forces are mobilised but unfortunately Nought escapes again. However, theres a massive break in the case. Nought escaped but two cryptids were caught and brought in. Taxi, an escapee from a monster farm unrelated to Nought directly though clearly a target. And more importantly Warren, one of Noughts personal right hand men. The two are in horrific states, barely clinging to life but stable. There's discussion on what to do with them. Even when they recover the liklihood of them cooperating is low, but they definitely cant just be released back into society. And so the two are put directly under Richards care. Of course Richard was told its an important part of his job to get their cooperation, but in reality he was once again just given a job no one else wanted or knew what to do with, just until a real plan could be put in place. |

| - Has an extensive mirror collection. Literally always has at least one on him - Had his CC uniform altered to look more "royal" as he put it. While not standard procedure he was allowed too due to his fathers influence and the fact that no one in the force takes him seriously as an officer anyway |
