Profile

Personality:

Suraj is more of a stoic character compared to anything else. He rarely shows his emotions, so it can be hard to discern what he is thinking. Although he is stoic, he is polite and considerate, and will take the time to explain what he is thinking to those who may be confused. Because a lot of the people he has met have trouble with what he is thinking, he is quick to notice this, and will explain himself if needed.

Because of the contrast between his mysterious, distant stoic character and his politeness he is quite popular as a romantic interest for others.

Likes:

  • Flight and high altitude places
  • Being clean and neat
  • Being polite and considerate
  • Loves savory soups
  • Kind and compassionate people

Dislikes:

  • People arguing
  • Being in his dragon form for extended periods of time

Background:

Suraj has always wanted to be able to fly. He had always been drawn to the idea of flight, most likely because of his inherent affinity for lightning/ thunder/ electricity.

One day, he noticed the villagers experimenting with flying crafts aided by magic. Naturally curious, he went closer to the village to see what was going on- but he approached the village in his dragon form. Terrified, the villagers fled into the forest, leaving everything behind until it was safe to return (when Suraj left). After the incident, the village was on edge and they started to prepare for an attack if he were to return- but the villagers felt like they were lacking power.

After some thought and communication between the village counselors, the village elder reached out to Evelyn- a good friend of his, and a knowledgeable witch. When Evelyn had received the message from the elder, she immediately set out to confront the dragon, and to ask him why he would "terrorize" the village folk. Suraj explained that he didn't intend to harm the folk but rather he just wanted to see what the magical flight crafts that he saw were.

Trusting Suraj's word, Evelyn reported to the village elder, but the elder did not trust Suraj's words, and wanted proof that he would never harm the village. Evelyn explained the situation to Suraj, and Evelyn came to this solution: to give Suraj a humanoid form. It would have been in the best interest for both parties from what she thought.

Evelyn spent about a week preparing, and spell-casting for Suraj's humanoid form- to the point where she got exhausted. Seeing how much effort she was putting in, Suraj did as much as he could to help her out. After he attained his humanoid form, Evelyn accompanied him to the village in order to meet with the village elder.

Although the elder's guard was lowered, he was still not convinced that Suraj wouldn't harm the village and its people. Suraj, made an oath never to hurt anyone from the village, and his word was signed into a magical contract conjured by Evelyn. If he were to break the contract he would loose his humanoid form and would be sealed in his cave for several hundred years.

Feeling a sense of relief, the elder gathered everyone in the village to make an announcement and to introduce Suraj in his human form. Because his humanoid form happened to be quite handsome, he was very popular with the female villagers. Ever since the incident had come to a more or less peaceful conclusion, Suraj has been frequently visiting the village to learn more about the magical flying crafts.

---

From one of Aldo's visits to Evelyn's store, he overhears their conversation about a "Flight Attendant". Curious, he approaches the two to ask what a "flight attendant" is. Proud that he was being asked a question on his knowledge, Aldo explained that in the human world they have things called "airplanes" which have "flight attendants" that look after the travelers who want to go to far away lands. Fascinated, Suraj wanted to head to human world to see one of these "Airplanes" for himself, and decided to follow Aldo on a few trips to the human world after being granted a human form from Evelyn (earned after completing some of Evelyn's favors).

He didn't have clothes that would be suitable for being among humans, so he asked Aldo if he could borrow some of his. Aldo refused to share but suggested that he could get the tailor (Taylin) from the village to make some for him. After borrowing one of Aldo's fashion magazines, Suraj now had a small wardrobe of clothes that he could use in the human world. As for a place to stay, Aldo agreed (after facing much pressure from Evelyn), to let Suraj stay at his place in the human world, BUT only under the condition that when he makes his own living he'll have to move out. Suraj agrees to this.

After learning much about the human world, Suraj became well established, and has started a job as a Flight Attendant. He makes occasional trips back to his original world to visit Evelyn, the village folk and Aldo.

Main Connections:

Evelyn

After she helped clear the misunderstanding between him and the close-by villagers, Suraj has been very appreciative towards Evelyn.

Because Evelyn is close with the villagers, she was willing to help solve the commotion by giving Suraj a humanoid form to make him less intimidating. Through this experience, Suraj learned that he should be more considerate of others, and admired how Evelyn negotiated with the village elder.

Aldo

Suraj originally met Aldo at Evelyn's shop when he came to buy something from Evelyn. Right in the middle of Evelyn's deal with Suraj, Aldo slammed open the door (of Evelyn's shop) to come and complain about something he got from her. Through a good scolding, Evelyn told Aldo that he had to follow the specific directions perfectly in order to get the desired effect. Aldo, after being tired of the tediousness spell casting, started becoming frustrated and vented that anger towards Evelyn.

In Evelyn's defense, Suraj stands between them to try and stop Aldo, but Aldo gets annoyed at Suraj's interference.

"Who the hell are you? Get out of my way?" - Aldo.

Suraj's only response was telling Aldo to go outside and stop this nonsense. Aldo took this as a challenge, and the two proceeded to brawl outside. The brawl didn't last long because of the power gap between Suraj and Aldo- Suraj was the clear winner because of his strong thunder elemental magic.
